Kabul (BNA) Officials of ministry of agriculture and irrigation have announced that saffron production in the country has received tangible growth in the country and Afghanistan exported nearly 4,000 tones saffron to foreign countries last year. Commenting on the topic minister of agriculture and irrigation Muhammad Asif Rahimi told media that effort for expansion of saffron productions have left fruitful results and according to the special planning farmers interested to cultivate saffron from western Heart province which is the hub of saffron production and cultivation in the country and during the previous year more than four thousand saffron exported from Afghanistan into various world countries mainly the United States , Germany and UK. Meanwhile, a number of saffron cultivators have expressed satisfaction over growth of saffron cultivation in the country .Head of saffron cultivators association Bashir Ahmad Rashidi said that farmers across the country have shown willingness and great interests to cultivate saffron in the country and the recent statistics show that last year 3250 acres of land in western province of Heart were cultivated saffron .Talking on the matter , Abdul Ghafar Hamidzai chairman of Afghan Saffron Company in Heart said that the concerned company had exported nearly 5 00 kg saffron abroad under Afghani mark and added that production of the company has increased to 120 kg during 1390 and mostly this company exported saffron to Germany , Spain , Italy , US and the UK . At the meantime, nationals of the country have strongly welcomed saffron production in the country and have urged the govt to facilitate the farmers in cultivating saffron in all regions of the country to use it as an alternative to poppy.

Kabul (BNA) The High Economic Council (HEC) chaired by President Hamid Karzai held in presidential palace yesterday, BNA reported.
In the meeting as per of the agenda, the president of Da Afghanistan Bank called for introducing bourses and disseminating valued documents and the establishment of shares market is a proper alternative for implementing currency policy and ensuring the stability of Afghan currency to High Economic Council. The High Economic Council after extensive discussions assigned a commission under the chairmanship of finance minister and membership of Asharf Ghani Ahmadzai, head of chamber of commerce and industries, economist Hamidullah Noor and professor Abad of the economy faculty after studying the economic situation of the region countries provide a legal framework and mechanism for determining the shares and other related issues within two weeks and presented to Economic High Council.

Kabul (BNA) The program of transmitting power from Iran to Farah started yesterday.
According to BNA report, the practical work on transmission of power from Iran to Farah provinces has started in soil.
Abdulrahman Zhowandoi governor spokesperson said BNA that, governor of Farah in his last visit to Islamic Republic of Iran pointed out that the transmission of two hundred megawatts electricity to Farah province, work has been started in the territory of Iran and will be started in Farah province very soon.
He added, soon the construction work of commercial road of (Shaikh Abu Nasral-Farabi) which was ceased earlier, will be started again.
According to him, the Iran government promised Farah governor that they will take all necessary measures to implement these two projects.
Authorities presently talk about the commence of these two projects in near future, while the citizens of this province complains about from lack of power and in the province and damage of the (Shaikh Abu Nasral-Farabi) road.

Kabul (BNA) The construction work of Farah airport will start nearly with the cost of six million dollars.
Abdulrahman Zhowandoi governor spokesperson of Farah Said BNA, with the construction of the airport most of the problems of the citizens will be solved.
He added the central government has accepted to pay the cost of the project.
According to him the construction work of the airport will be started very soon according to the international standards.
Governor spokesperson reported from the completions of the other projects in this province and said asphalting the roads of Qala Kah, Khake-Safayed and capital of Farah province, construction of higher teacher training college, healthy water supply system, and dozens other projects in the near future will be completed.
He explained that the building and implementation of the projects need dozens of millions dollars that will be paid by the central government.
