Kabul (BNA) Presided over by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the session of high economic council was held Sunday evening at Presidential Palace.
In the session, deputy minister of transport Fawzia Ihsan briefed related to the ministry’s measures adopted in connection with ground transport policy, transport development plans, reviewing of companies and transport unions, controlling of the transportation fair, management of transportation to abroad, taking illegal money along highways, customs and gates and collecting incomes with transparency.
Deputy Minister of transport also delivered particular options and suggestions in connection with collecting transparent incomes and asked for creating equipped controlling and computerized system with all utensils and personnel on gates and trading ports in order to prevent from missing transporting vehicles.
Fawzia Ihsan also spoke related to execution of electronics cards to drivers, adding that for execution of the plan, the cooperation of the government and private sector was needed.
In the session, ministry of transport suggested that all taxes of the government should be collected under a government particular unit.
Meanwhile, it was also suggested that for improvement of affairs in the ministry, three professional and administrative budgetary directorates as civil aviation authority, railway and road management authority should be created with independent structures. After hearing visions and suggestions of the transport ministry’s officials, the country’s President said a conclusively plan was underway in connection with collecting incomes through new technology.
President Ghani instructed that relevant government institutions and private sector should jointly work on the plan, adding that physical money in collecting incomes should be ended, incomes should be collected in one place and collecting of the incomes was one of the tasks of the finance ministry. Laws should be reviewed whether notebooks given by transport to drivers were cancelled or another proper alternative should be considered. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani instructed that general directorate of private transport should be absorbed in transport ministry so that problems of parallel organs to be ended.
