Extraction, Exploration Of Amu Daraya Zone Petroleum

Kabul (BNA) The Afghan government last week, started work on the extraction and exploration of petroleum Zone of Amu River.
The extraction of petroleum from the Amu River Zone is headed by the China’s National Petroleum Company (CNPC).
The project was officially opened by Marshal Mohammad Qassem Fahim first Vice President, mines, finance, interior affair ministers and other high ranking government officials including Chinese envoy in Sar-i-Pul province.
According to statistics Amu River Zone has near to eighty million barrel of oil that with its extraction government would annually benefit million of dollars.
The project as a great source of income to the government not only strengths and supports the economy of the country but the exploitation of these mines realizes the national sovereignty, expands the rule of law and convey the message of security and stability in the country which as result the opportunity for investment would be accessible to foreign and domestic investors that also encourages foreign investor to explore the mines of Afghanistan.
It is the 2nd major project after the Aynak cooper mine of Logar that Chinese companies are investing in.
Recently, President Hamid Karzai met his Chinese counterpart in Shanghai Regional Cooperation Organization Conference and exchanged views of various pivotal issues including the exploration of the country.
It is worth mentioning that King Amanullah after gaining independence in 1919, dreamed to take Afghanistan towards progress and bring it par with Europe.
In 1950 the exploration, the survey for exploration of oil and gas in Afghanistan began by the experts and engineers of the former Soviet Union and it was estimated that Amu Darya oil zone has 87 million barrel oil.
Oil exploration and its extraction plays significant role in stabilizing economy and the Chinese national petroleum company according to the government would contract power plant and asphalt the roads in the area.
With the launching of the project job opportunities would also be provided to the people of the Sar-i-Pul, Jawzjan and Faryab provinces and the people of that area would benefit from the project.
China and India are two great countries that had invested in exploration and exploitation of Afghanistan mines which indicates their governments, strong support and commitment in renovation and development process of Afghanistan.
The Afghan nation hopes other countries contribution in rehabilitation process of Afghanistan too.
