Afghanistan Connectivity Through Central Asia Helps Good Reach Europe In Seven-Day: President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met a number of craftsmen and businessmen of Kandahar province here on Thursday, a presidential statement said. Representing others, Fazel Haq, Haji Mohammad Qasim, Haji Mohammad Akbar and Haji Ali Ahmad praised President Ghani’s economic efforts, saying big changes have been taken place in Kandahar Industrial Park since two years, adding 75 million USD new investment have taken place and mostly the closed factories reopened during this period. Kandahar businessmen said more investment would be made in the industrial sector if the required electricity was ensured to the sector. They also said the investment would be increased if land was distributed to them by the government.
Hearing the problems and demands of the businessmen, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said Afghanistan would be soon connected to Europe thought Torgondai-Turkmenistan railroad. The president said Afghanistan connectivity with Europe through Central Asia would help the trade goods reach the Europe in seven-day. The president thanked the businessmen for investing in Kandahar for the sake of Afghanistan development and its people. He asked the concerned officials to allocate land for investors in Helmand and assessment for the new industrial park in Kandahar should be carried out promptly. The president said he was monitoring the power supply project to Kandahar himself and not delay in the regard would be acceptable. President Ghani said more electricity from Kajaki Dam would be generated, work on solar power generation was also underway and more electricity would be imported from Turkmenistan.
