NPC Approves 4 Contracts Worth 3bln Afghanis

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the National Procurement Commission (NPC) held session on Monday, the presidential palace reported BNA. The meeting approved four contracts worth 3 billion Afghanis, rejected one contract and returned three others. The approved contracts are as follow:
• The contract of ensuring security of Hamid Karzai International Airport, Kandahar, Herat and Mazar-e-Sharif airports.
• The contract for feasibility studies and the Amu River zone projects’ design related to the ministry of water and energy.
• Construction project of Guzar-e-Khawaja Imam in Kabul PD 14, related to Kabul municipality.
• Contract related to the ministry of urban development and housing
The meeting returned the suggesting contracts such developing the public health ministry’s health information center, a 20 KV line route in Ghorband, Parwan province and electrical equipment related to Da Afghanistan Breshna Company for further investigation. At the same time, the Sim Card and Scratch Card procurement contract needed for Afghan Telecom has been rejected due to high price and it was decided that this requirement to be procured through government-to-government contract with India. Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Second Vice-President Sarwar Danesh, Ministers of Finance and Economy, Acting Minister of Justice, NPC in-charges and national observers and some others were also present in the meeting.
