“Nobody Can Prevent Lawful Investments in the Country,” President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani participated and delivered speech in opening ceremony held yesterday for celebration of ‘Industry Week’ in Chahar Chenar Palace, BNA reported. In the ceremony attended by a number of industrial figures, investors and officials of the country’s commerce and economy sector, acting minister of industry and commerce Ajmal Ahmadi first spoke and said industry could play vital role in improvement of economic development and increasing of exports. “The ministry of industry and commerce focuses on three key principles such as the improvement of trade, changing Afghanistan from an importing to exporting country and development of infrastructures and creating policies to grow industry in the country,” Ahmadi said, adding that the country’s exports have reached to $1billion and it is determined that the amount will reach to $2billion in coming two years. Afterwards, the country’s President by congratulating the Industry Week to all industrial workers said that industry and industrial workers were the facts of today’s Afghanistan. “Today we don’t have ghost industrial worker as the activity of industrial workers, investment and the impact of their investment are clearly measurable,” President Ghani said, adding that Afghan investors by investing in various fields are changing the destiny of the country, which is a positive move. The country’s President said that investment has improved over the past four years and that trust and mutual respect have been created between the private sector and the government. “There’s still opportunity to make use of experiences of other countries for industrial revolution in the country,” President Ghani said, considering investment of human forces as significant for development of industry in the country. Pointing to problems of industrial workers and investors in the field of security, electricity price, reviewing tariffs and distribution of lands in industrial parks, the country’s President instructed relevant institutions for addressing the problems. He said that nobody could prevent from lawful investment in the country, adding that all ministries, institutions and government employees were responsible to provide facilities for investment in the country.
