Worth 3.7bl Afgs NPC Approves 42 Procurement Cases

Kabul (BNA) The meeting of the National Procurement Commission chaired by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani was held yesterday evening at the presidential palace.
According to BNA report, in the meeting, 48 procurement cases incorporating contract awards, terminations, amendments, memos and requests for instructions were reviewed of which 42 cases were approved with a cost of 3.7 billion Afs.
The procurement cases include: Contract Awards: - Three projects incorporating design and construction of 15 irrigation dams in different parts of Afghanistan - Rehabilitation of infrastructure in district 11 of Kabul, nine projects consisting construction of a dormitories in Helmand, Zabul and Wardak provinces, teaching buildings in Kabul Polytechnic University, 20-bed hospital in Wardak province, teaching building for Kabul Sports Training Directorate, a mosque in Parwan province and procurement of 25 clothing items for APPF; all projects related to Operations and Support Authority of Administrative Office of the President - Procurement of 40 vehicles required by IDLG, Consultancy services for PBAX telephone system for Ministry of Finance, Recruitment of 120 security personnel for Sheberghan-Mazare Sharif gas pipeline related to MoMP, Two items of firewood for MoIA NPC however; returned cases for further review related to procurement of 220 Kv transmission line in Nooruljhead Substation in Herat province related to DABS and 150 thousand Catridge machines for Tuberculosis program of MoPH. Terminations: The following contracts were terminated, Two contracts of Vaccines implementation in remote areas of Farah and Urozgan provinces, Cooking gas of central command units of MoD, Road projects in Mandol district of Nooristan province Memos and Requests for Instruction: Following requests and memos were discussed and relevant instructions were issued on them: - Cabinet’s decision on payments to companies stopped by audit committee of Lower House - Procurement of 170 Ambulances and corps carrier vehicles - 15 vehicles required by Ministry of Peace Affairs - Vegetable items required for ANA - Fuel facilities for Ariana Afghan Airlines - Construction of 19.8 km road with its structures in Khoram Sare Bagh district of Baghlan province related to MRRD - Report of Grievance Review of a bidder on 2.2 km city road related to MRRD - Procurement method of REACH program with NGOs related to MRRD - Procurement method for internet facility related to MoCIT which was returned by NPC - 6 Vehicles procured for ATRA - Negotiation process for procurement Railway machinery for Hairatan- Mazar Sharif Railtrack related to Afghanistan Railway Authority Amendments: Following amendment requests were reviewed: - Time extension of contract for printing of currency related to Central Bank - Time extension of feasibility study of Mosa Qala Dam in Helmand province - Amendment to pay conditions of DABS fuel contract - Cost extension of power supply contract for Gardez- Paktia provinces - Payment conditions of power supply contract in Gardez- Paktia provinces - Cost extension of vehicle contracts procured by Operations and Support Authority of AOP - Time extension of feasibility study and design of Salang Tunnel - Time extension of 10.38 km road construction contract in Shendand district of Herat province - Cost extension of International Voice Carrier contract of MoICT - Time extension of Fiber Optic contract for connecting Central Post Office to its provincial branches - Amendment to NPC decision made on 9.6 km road in Deh Sabz district of Kabul - And cost reduction to security contracts of Hamid Karzai, Herat, Kandahar and Mazar Sharif international airports National and international observers had participated in this NPC session along with its other members.
