NPC Reviewed Status of MoD and MoIA Procurement Contracts

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Ashraf Ghani, National Procurement Commission (NPC) convened 11th session of the fiscal year at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday. 
NPC by releasing a statement reported, in this session the National Procurement Authority presented a concept with proposed options for procurement reform coupled with strengthening transparency and efficiency in ministries of Defense and Interior Affairs.
The NPC acknowledged the concept and provided relevant instructions for further process of the concept, the statement added.
Moreover, NPC also reviewed requests for instructions, memos and procurement issues raised by MoD and MoIA and availed them appropriate instructions, the statement further added.
NPC once again accentuated to break the monopoly of contractors, create a proper mechanism for tax clearance of contractors and evaluate their investments.
MoD and MoIA were also instructed to strengthen cost estimation mechanisms and strengthening procurement proceedings. In this NPC meeting, besides its members national and international observers had also participated, the statement underlined.
