Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan Discuss Railway Project

Kabul (BNA) The first meeting of working group on railway line among Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan “ATT” held in Turkmenistan Republic yesterday.
Dr. Mohammad Fazel Saifi Afghan ambassador to Ashqabad, Turkmenistan told the BNA that on the basis of an understanding agreement reached among the leaders of three countries in Nauruz of current year in Ashqabad, yesterday the first meeting of the working group of three countries consisting of specialists of the three countries was held who discussed the regular activities pertaining to the project.
At this meeting it was decided that the three countries prepare the draft of the agreement for construction of the railway line among the three countries in two weeks’ time and present it to the coming meeting of this working group.
The meeting also decided on the financing sources and a regular program with the schedule of working group meetings in every two months and the leading group every three month in the capitals of these countries.
He added that this project is important in the region in which Afghanistan has the main role and annually millions of US dollars net income with immense jobs will be provided for the youth of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile the project perspective that of course has its immense enemies in this region is not only important for Afghanistan economically but from political viewpoints the project has its significance for Afghanistan and the regional countries.
