Successful Implementation of The Railway Project, Its Consequences

Kabul (BNA) It`s a crystal clear fact that Afghanistan sustained heavy losses and destructions in past three decades in various spheres that has confronted the Afghan nation with many economic troubles. Fortunately since the formation of an elected government the government of the Islamic republic of Afghanistan strived to strengthen and rehabilitate the infrastructure and other economic foundations of the country by signing several agreements with the world countries in diverse fields. Doubtlessly with the successful implementation and realization of the accords the Afghan government and Afghan people would witness progress and achievements in different areas. President Hamid Karzai in his recent visit to Turkmenistan beside the international Naworz celebration signed the tripartite agreement of construction of railway with president of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan and Ashgabat the capital of Turkmenistan. According to the agreement experts from the three countries would assess the technical, legal and financial details of the project during the next one month and its expected that the practical work on this project that will help economic growth in the three countries will start in another four months. The railway line starts from Atmarad of Turkmenistan and will move forward to the Imam Nazar region near to the Afghan border and then will go onwards to the Aqeena and Andkhoi and finally the railway line would connect Afghanistan with Tajikistan through Sheer Khan port of Kunduz province. The accomplishment of the project won`t just lay constructive impacts in socio-economic growth of these three nations but would also benefit other states in the region. The railway line it considered as the main pillar of the economy in landlocked countries like Afghanistan and it`s more effective compared to the air and land transport. President Karzai in the meeting called the construction of the railway line as a vital point in strengthening of economic relations between Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan and promoting of friendship and good neighborhood among the countries in the region. The Afghan nation believes that the railway project not only will connect Afghanistan and other regional countries, but this will lay positive impacts on economic relations among Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
