Kabul (BNA) UNAMA recent report talks, about unprecedented casualties among civilians, this indicates that it has not done enough so far to prevent civilians’ casualties in battle fields.
BNA military affairs analyst commenting on the issue writes UNAMA in its report recently released claims that civilian casualties in Afghanistan have unprecedentedly increased.
The report says that during the first six months of the current year, 1692 civilians have lost their lives and 3420 others injured in battle events and terrorist   incidents. According the report, the casualties in the six months of this year shows 1% increase than the first month of 2017.  The report shows 5% increase in number of civilians injured this year than the previous year.
The report released in a time that recently in a suicide attack, Taliban claimed its responsibility caused heavy casualties among civilians. This and other tragic incidents take place day by day across the country by terrorist groups clearly prove that they are behind the heavy casualties among civilians not Afghan security forces.
Suicide attacks, planting roadside bombs and targeting public gathering places are the main factors that cause heavy casualties among civilians, mostly terrorist groups claimed their responsibly with honor and pride.
Taliban claimed the responsibility of the recent attack carried out close to Ministry of Rural Rehabilitating and Development. This and other criminal acts such as panting mines, attacking public place and state offices are the major factors that cause heavy casualties among civilians. As it is mentioned earlier Taliban and other terrorist groups claim the responsibility such crimes with honor and pride.  The acknowledgements of terrorist groups including Taliban clearly show that they are the main source for increasing casualties among civilians. Unfortunately, Afghan and international organization including UNAMA and other UN organs make it enough with condemning the crimes and releasing a report in that regard.
The people suggest that the international community and its related organs should take effective and practical measures to end the killing of civilians and we achieve this aim only by punishing and eradicating the real  perpetrators of crimes without and discrimination.
Afghan political experts and civil society activists suggest UN should establish an effective organism for punishment of Taliban and their patron countries and enforce restrictions against sources and countries that support terrorists financially in this way without doubt the number of casualties among civilians will decrease and provide the ground for peace negotiation and restoring peace and stability in to Afghanistan.
