Kabul (BNA) The Afghan government and people believe that regional cooperation and coordination have provided opportunities for regional tranquility, for this reason regional cooperation perform a basic part of foreign policy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
BNA political affairs analyst commenting on the issue writes Mohammad Ashraf Ghani president of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan heading a high ranking officials visited Azerbaijan Republic at end of last week. During his visit with his Azerbaijani counterpart discussed the extension of cooperation between the two countries in commercial, export, transportation and mining fields. Also the leadership of the two countries has signed several agreements on communication and information technology and a memorandum on cultural and railway cooperation.
Afghanistan and Azerbaijan enjoy of having old ties and common interests. During the last 18 years, the two countries were witnessing unprecedented Improvement in their relations in various aspects, the most important of which was using lajward (lapis lazily) transit road which enabled Afghanistan to send some of its commercial goods through Azerbaijan to the markets of Europe.
This is not only Azerbaijan that Afghanistan is experiencing a good political, commercial and economic relations, the country have also built a strong relation with Central Asian countries including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Using Lajward High Way, electric transition project of KASA 1000, primitive measures for constructing a rail way that goes through Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan and a railway that connects Afghanistan and China are the examples of economic cooperation among the countries of the region.
Although Afghanistan considers regional cooperation and coordination as a way for settling regional problems but unfortunately there are certain circles and countries instead regional cooperation and coordination have chosen the wrong way rivalry that is not in to the benefit of the countries of the region. While the Afghan people strongly believe as much as political rivalries replaced by economic rivalries it would provide opportunities for tranquility of the people of the region. For this reason regional cooperation, constitutes a priority of Afghan government, adapting such a policy Afghan government has already experienced some successes.
