Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the meeting of high economic council was held at Arg’s Chahar Chenar Palace, BNA reported. In the meeting, issues as SODEVCO’s request for processing and exporting chromite to outside, bidding process of Nangarhar Talc project, transferring of possession of Wasel Telecom to Alokozay Group Companies complex and getting fixed sum as non-metallic things’ issuance right were discussed. First, officials for ministry of mines and petroleum delivered information regarding SODEVCO’s request for processing and exporting chromite to outside, condition of current chromite contracts and their suggestions in connection with granting the contract to the respective company. After overall discussion in connection with the company’s request, members of the council asked for further information in this regard.
Meanwhile, the country’s President said that the amount of the company’s current investment, management system and its legal and economic aspects should be clarified so that decision would be made in this regard. Afterwards, officials of the ministry of mines and petroleum delivered their information in connection with bidding process on Nangarhar Talc project (Shirzad Block) and four top companies for bidding the project. Members of the meeting said that guarantees of investment of the bidding companies were not clear, asking for clarification of modality of numbering for the bidding companies President Ghani instructed national procurement authority to cooperate with ministry of mine and petroleum in connection with numbering and evaluation of the companies. Afterwards, transferring plan of Wasel Telecom’s license possession to Alokozay Group Companies complex was delivered by minister of telecommunication and information technology to the meeting. After overall discussion, members of the council said the issue needed further technical discussions, adding that the issue should be further discussed in a committee which had been previously formed for this purpose.

Kabul (BNA) Deputy Minister of finance, administrative and tourism Sayeda Mojgan Mostafavi in a ceremony held yesterday to remember the 3rd Hoot uprising said there was complete unity among all religions and nations.
Delivering a speech on the occasion, deputy minister of finance, administrative and tourism said the first peace movement against injustice and invasion was launched by the people of Kabul Chendawol as the people of Kabul were proud of their struggle. Meanwhile, head of Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim Foundation Sayed Abdullah Hashimi spoke and said that the 3rd Hoot uprising started 57 days after direct invasion of Soviet troops, adding that the protest was first peaceful and later changed to violence as a result of which nearly 2,000 people were killed and injured.

Kabul (BNA) Acting Minister of Information and Culture Hasina Safi has met with French newly-appointed ambassador to Kabul David Martinon and discussed the country’s cooperation with Afghanistan in the field of art and culture.
According to BNA report, in the meeting, French ambassador to Kabul by briefing related the embassy’s programs said that there had been French archaeologists working under the framework of the French Archaeological Delegation in Afghanistan (DAFA) in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan, Helmand, Balkh, Panjshir and Kabul’s Balahesar.
He also briefed regarding activities of France Culture Center where cultural, academic, literal and educational programs and exhibitions were held, considering holding such programs as useful for further expansion of cultural relations between the two countries. Afterwards, Acting Minister of Information and Culture Hasina Safi considered the activity and work of DAFA in Afghanistan as useful and significant and praised the France Cultural Center for its activities in introduction of the country’s real culture and art. Acting Minister of Information and Culture called France as Afghanistan’s partner in art and culture, recalling of the country’s role in supporting the rights of women, children and youth.

Kabul (BNA) National Security Advisor Dr. Hamdullah Mohib in a meeting with youth of Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul and Urozgan by praising the people of Loy Kandahar for supporting the government’s programs, peace process and ANDSF said big Kandahar had been one of stable and secure provinces of the country for centuries, hoping the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process would succeed in this critical time. “The initiative of peace is in the hand of Afghanistan people and government and no dealing will be followed in this regard,” Dr. Mohib said, adding Peace Consultative Loya Jirga is a good opportunity for youth to share their visions in connection with peace and the country’s future.
National Security Advisor further said that the ongoing war in the country was not the war of Afghans, but it was a war that has been imposed by foreign intelligence networks, adding that Afghan youth should put an end to the ongoing war that has changed to a culture. National Security Advisor further said that Afghanistan government was serious towards counter mafia and powerful figures, stressing that anybody taking arms against the government and people should be suppressed. “It is a time to cut down dependency to foreigners and work to reach self-sufficiency,” Dr. Mohib said, asking Afghan youth to seriously cooperate with the government in fighting powerful armed figures and mafia.

Kabul School Teachers Call on VP Danesh

Kabul (BNA) A large number of school teachers of Kabul’s west called on Second Vice-President Sarwar Danesh on Thursday and shared their demands as lack of possibilities in their schools, BNA reported. In the meeting, teachers enumerated lack of buildings and classes for a number of schools in the west of Kabul, lack of drinking water and lack of teacher vacant posts as principal problems in schools. Second Vice-President by praising the participants for sharing their problems with him considered the move as good and constructive for addressing problems of the people in education system.

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani received Esmatullah Alizada who failed to win the entry-test, despite winning eligible scores and heard his complaints.
According to BNA report, the President met Alizada at the Delkusha Palace said Alizada was an example of special commitment which the country’s youth have for the national army and that he should be enlisted as the winner of the exam. He blamed the process of entry-test as non-transparent said that their work method was a sabotage of the national spirit and that their measures should be clear to all and provide a convicting response. The President instructed the National Security Council Office for creation of a special committee with national perspective to review the regulations and the ways of Marshal Fahim’s entry test and that there should be a special reserve for those wining eligible scores.

Air Raids Took the Lives of 17 Insurgents

TARINKOT CITY (BNA) Over 17 terrorists were killed following air attacks carried out by Afghan air forces in southern Urozgan province within the last 24 hours.
The rebels have been targeted in various parts of Khas Urozgan district and Tarinkot city the provincial capital of the province.
17 armed oppositions were killed and six centers of Taliban have been destroyed during the air attacks, top commander of Afghan national army in the south of the country reported BNA.
It has been said, Taliban fighters were involved on organizing a series of terrorist activities that targeted and killed by Afghan air forces inside their hideouts.
According to another report, Afghan security forces by discovering and confiscating eight round of different types of mines succeeded to prevent several bloodiest incident in crowded areas of Urozgan province.

SHABERGHAN CITY (BNA) At least two persons were killed and four others were wounded following Taliban attack on employees of a private company in Shabarghan-Mazar highway late on Wednesday.
Faridoun Aneeq spokesman of Jawzjan governor told BNA correspondent, the incident took place close to Khan Arabia region, Khanqah district, Shaberghan-Mazar highway.
During Taliban attack, driver of a vehicle and another civilian were have died four other civilians were wounded.
After interference of Afghan security forces and clashes between them and Taliban, two members of Taliban group were killed.
Sometimes ago, Taliban militants took several fuel tankers from the highway.

45 Narcotic Drug Smugglers Sentenced to Jail

Kabul (BNA) Primary and appeal courts of judicial center for counter-narcotic drug have sentenced 45 narcotic drug smugglers from 13-18 years to jail.
Khalid Mohid spokesman of judicial center for counter-narcotic drug told BNA reporter, the smugglers were arrested by police personnel accused of 25 narcotic drug cases from Kabul and provinces of the country.
Also, 1438 kg narcotic drug, over 78 kg chemical material and 124 liters alcoholic beverages have been discovered from the smugglers, Mohid added.

QALAT CITY (BNA) More than 10 Taliban fighters were killed following artillery attack carried out by Afghan security forces in western Zabul province last night.
The terrorists have been targeted and killed in different parts of Ghorak district of the province.
Senior commander of Afghan national army in the west of the country reported BNA, 10 armed oppositions were killed and four more were injured following the attack.
According to report, Taliban members were busy on organizing a series of terrorist and destructive activities that targeted and killed by Afghan security personnel.
