Kabul (BNA) Security officials briefed lawmakers about the country’s security situation behind closed doors.  In the wake of growing incidents of violence, the lower house summoned top security officials on Monday to brief lawmakers about the country’s security situation.
Mohmmad Alem saee, a lawmaker from Takhar province, told reporters after the meeting, that the briefing by the top security officials did not deserve to be delivered behind closed doors.
“in the past six months, all discussions took place behind closed doors and the government fears if the public got aware of realities they will not vote to the president,” he said.
He said no major information was delivered regarding security situation in the meeting, therefore it was not worth to be held behind the closed doors.
Sher Mohammad Akhundzada, a lawmaker from Helmand province, said the meeting remained secret due to negligence of the house administrative penal. “The speaker had consensus with the minister, therefore I did not get the time to ask questions, so I left the meeting,” he said.
It is worth mentioning that Taliban attacks have increased in recent weeks, resulting in civilians and security personnel casualties.

NDS Target Taliban Rebels in Kunar

Kabul (BNA) The NDS officials conducted clearing operation on Taliban terrorist group in Sordara village, Dangam District, Kunar province.
National security press office told BNA, 20 member group of Taliban leader were killed and three of his colleagues have been detained.
Several heavy and light weapons of the insurgents were also seized by police forces.

Taliban Terrorist Killed in Farah Raid

Kabul (BNA)  The local officials of Farah province said, as a result of Taliban attack on police checkpoints in Haidarquli and Sultan Mir regions of Farah province, 12 Taliban were killed and nine others have been injured.
Mohibullah Mohib police spokesman of Farah told BNA, in the conflict, Taliban were faced with sever resistance of security forces, with killing of 12 insurgents and wounding of nine, they were fled the site.
Another report says, a mine was planted in a motorbike in 4th district police of Farah city, was defused by police forces.
No one has been detained in connection of the case.

Drug Smugglers Detained in Kabul

Kabul (BNA) Police of Hamid Karzai International Airport arrested three drug smugglers.
According to interior ministry spokesman to BNA, the three smugglers wanted to smuggle a quantity of drug to Uzbekistan, detained by police forces from the airport.

Farah (BNA) A popular uprising commander Abdul Hakim Hosaini was martyred by armed gunmen in Darabad region, Farah province last night.
Mohibullah Mohib spokesman for Farah security directorate told BNA correspondent, Abdul Hakim Hosaini brother of Abdul Satar Hosaini people representative of Farah in parliament was martyred by unknown gunmen and security offices have begun attempting to identify and punish the attackers.

Pul-e-Alam (BNA) Nine civilians including children were martyred and six others have been injured in coalition forces raid in Logar province last night.
Salem Jan Naemzou Nomads representative in Logar told BNA local correspondent, nine civilians including children were martyred and six others have been wounded in coalition forces raid in Dasht Khaka region, Barakibarak district, Logar province.
He condemning the incident, urged the government to prevent civilian casualties as soon as possible and the government should pay close attention to the lives of the people.
On the other hand, Ahmad Wais Abdul Rahimzai governor for Barakibarak District told BNA correspondent, at 12 last night, air forces aircrafts attacked on two houses in Kamp Kocheha region, Dasht Khaka region, Barakibarak district, as a result, nine civilians lost their lives and six others were injured.
The victims of the event are all civilians which were taken to Qala-e-Malak hospital in the mentioned district.
It is said that during the past week, 13 civilians including three children lost their lives and four others have been injured in coalition forces attacks in Logar province.
Shahpoor Ahmadzai police chief of Logar confirmed the attacks but did not said anything about the casualties of the events.
A delegation has sent to the site to investigate the incident, he added.

Ghazni (BNA) Ten armed militants were killed in Ghazni province last night.
Mohammad Aref Noori spokesman for Ghazni governor told BNA, the militants were targeted by air strikes of Afghan security forces in Mtergodel village, Dehyak district and Nazarkhan village Ander District of Ghazni province.
Four other insurgents were also injured, a corolla care, four mines and several weapons of the militants were destroyed in the raids, said Noori.

Drug Smugglers Detained in Nangarhar

Nangarhar (BNA) Two people have been arrested with tens kgs of narcotic drug in Nangarhar province today.
Media’s office of Nangarhar security commandment told BNA correspondent, the two people while wanted to smuggle 30kgs of narcotic to Marco bazaar through Tourkham-Jalalabad highway, arrested by security forces in Nangarhar province.

JALALABAD CITY (BNA) Thousands Kochi (Nomad) families have gained access to safe and clean drinking water in eastern Nangarhar province.
The families have gained access to safe and clean drinking water after completion of four water supply networks in different parts of Nangarhar province.
The water supply networks have built with a cost of over 8.7 million Afghanis funded by rural rehabilitation and development department in the province.
Press office of Nangarhar governor by releasing a statement issued that, by construction of the water supply networks at least 7000 Kochi families have gained access to safe and clean drinking water.
Kochi people have appreciated the construction of the water supply networks in the province.

ASADABAD CITY (BNA) Four people accused of connection with terrorist groups were arrested during a special operation in eastern Kunar province last night.
The people have arrested in various parts of Ghazi Abad district of the province.
Senior commander of Afghan national army in the east of the country told BNA reporter, some weapons and military equipment have been seized from the arrested people.
The people in their primary investigation confessed to that they were involved in dozens terrorist activities in Kunar province.
According to another report, Afghan security forces by discovering and confiscating eight round of different type of mines succeeded to prevent several bloodiest incidents in crowded areas of Kunar province.
No one was arrested accused of the foiled mine plantings.
