Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani a meeting was held to discuss security and local administrative situation yesterday. After officials for MoD, MoI, NDS, MoTIC, MAIL, MRRD, MoWA, MoPH and other relevant independent departments deliver their reports to the meeting, President Ghani instructed that in consideration to promotion of Ghazni as the first grade province, all provincial administrative departments’ structure should be upgraded to first grade. The country’s President also instructed that a complex should be built for second administrative units in the province as current buildings had no capacity of the first grade units. President Ghani said that Ghazni province and its people have suffered huge losses and it was time that all provincial departments should take urgent steps and implement pledges that have been made for the people of the province. The country’s President further said that Ghazni Bala Hesar would be changed to a sample location, adding that employment opportunities and secure environment should be paved for women and residents of the province.

President Ghani Chairs NPC Meeting

Kabul (BNA) The National Procurement Commission (NPC), with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair approved the demand for contract of the consultative services project on the detailed design of the 151 kilometer Qaisar-Bala Murghab to Laman ring road to the Ministry of Public Works. According to BNA report, the meeting resolved that the consultative services projects of the roads detailed designs, hereinafter, should be taken place in a framework form. Contract bid on the gold mines project of the northeastern province of Badakhshan and Balkhab Copper project in Sar-e-Pul province, belonging to the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum have also been discussed in the meeting and noted that the issue of financial pledge, providing financial agreements and interests’ contradiction have been removed in these projects. The ministry’s demand on the projects has been approved in principle by the NPC meeting and noted that claims on the availability of interests’ contradiction of the DLA Piper company by the Afghanistan Transparency Watch should be investigated in the law committee. The commission also approved the amendment without increase in the contract price for the construction of the second phase of (Water Supply and Canalization) agricultural form in the Ordukhan area of Engil district of western province of Herat belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock. The country’s President instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock to launch investigation into the entire related contracts and provide a complete report to the Presidential Office. The President, while discussing the needs of the police and public order segments for the fiscal years 1397-1398 of the Ministry of Interior, also instructed the Ministries of Finance and Economy to signify alternative plans including the establishment of a separate administration for the country’s defense and security forces procurements. This was also instructed that a short-term responsibility of handling contracts should be handed over to the security commands (Police offices), with the Ministry of Interior and civil society as the monitors.

Kabul (BNA) The reconstruction work of 21 school buildings has been started by ministry of education in central Logar province.
Shah Poor Arab spokesman of education department in Logar told BNA, the school buildings to be reconstructed with a sum of over 11 million Afs funded by development budget of the ministry in Baraki Barak, Mohammad Agha and Charkh districts of the province.
Abdul Wakil Kaliwal head of education department in Logar says, by reconstruction of the school buildings adequate places will be provided for 25,000 students (girl and boy) in the mentioned areas.

Kabul (BNA) Afghan national defense and security forces by launching 19 joint military operations and 113 special operation succeeded to annihilate dozens terrorist and injured 40 others.
Ministry of national defense press office stated BNA, Afghan air forces conducted 8 airstrikes and 109 flights for supporting Afghan National Army in different parts of the country.
The operations have been launched in relevant areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Paktia, Maidan/Wardak, Khost, Logar, Kandahar, Zabul, Urozgan, Badghis, Herat, Faryab, Baghlan, Sar-e-Pul, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.

Shaberghan City (BNA) Several buildings belonged to ministry of agriculture, irrigation and livestock have been inaugurated by deputy of the ministry in northern Jawzjan province yesterday.
According to BNA local correspondent report, the buildings has been built with a sum of 130 million Afs funded from development budget of ministry of agriculture, irrigation and livestock and inaugurated by Hashmatullah Ghafouri deputy of the ministry in Shaberghan city the provincial capital of the province.
According to another report, construction work of three water canals has been initiated by Mr. Ghafouri in Qanjogha, Hasanabad and Jalalabad villages of Shaberghan city.
Head of agriculture, irrigation and livestock department in Jawzan told, the water canals will be constructed with a cost of 170 million Afs funded by Amercia.
By construction of the water canals 4000 acres of land to be irrigated.

Jalalabad City (BNA) Over 21 supporters of ISIS terrorist group killed during latest attacks carried out by Afghan Special Forces in vicinity of eastern Nangarhar province last night.
The terrorists have been targeted and killed in various parts of Khogyani, Haska Mina, Acheen, and Naziyan districts of the province.
Senior commander of Afghan National Army in the east of the country told BNA correspondent, air and ground raids carried out by Afghan Special Forces in different parts of the mentioned districts, in which 21 ISIS adherents were killed and their several hideouts along with some military equipment have been destroyed too.
According to another report, Afghan security forces by discovering and confiscating sex round of different type of mines succeeded to prevent from a series of blast in Nangarhar province.
Also during this period, three weapon storages belonging terrorist group have been seized by Afghan security troops in relevant areas of Naziyan, Ghanikhail districts and Jalalabad city the provincial capital of the province.
Several heavy and light weapons have been seized from the storages.
Local officials in the province claimed that ISIS members used the weapon storages in their terrorist and destructive activities.

Kandahar City (BNA) Following special operations that conducted by Afghan security forces, 14 suspicious accused of different criminal cases were arrested in various parts of western Kandahar province within the last 24 hours.
The arrested people are accused in murder, robbery, narcotic drug smuggling and human trafficking in different parts of Kandahar province, a security source in Kandahar reported BNA.
The people were arrested during special operations and vehicles’ checking from different parts of Kandahar province, the source added.

Farah City (BNA) Four narcotic drugs producing and packaging factories have been destroyed during an air operation in western Farah province last night.
Nasir Mehri spokesman of Farah governor told BNA correspondent, the factories have been demolished during air operation led by Afghan air forces in Bakwah and Gulistan districts of the province.
Hundreds kg narcotic drugs have been devastated in the factories.

Farah (BNA) 11 Taliban insurgents including three local commanders of them were killed in Farah province yesterday.
Lt. Abdul Qayoom Nooristani press in charge of army corps told BNA, the operation were launched in outskirt of Khak-e-Safeed district of that province.
Three senior local commanders of Taliban were also among the dead.
He said, a Taliban insurgent was also injured and several heavy and light weapons were seized, 10 mines which were planted by insurgents along the road, discovered and neutralized by security forces.

Maidan-Shaher (BNA) 42 Taliban militants were killed and 30 others have been wounded in a clearing operation conducted by Afghan security forces in Maidan-Wardak province late last night.
The operation conducted in Jaghtou district where Taliban kept 20 military prisoners.
According to reports, the security forces have succeeded to release 20 militaries from clutch of Taliban in the operation.
Abdul Rahman Mangal spokesman for Maidan-Wardak governor told BNA, the operation also carried out in several districts of the province and residents of the province welcomed launching of the operation.
