ATC Chief Praised

Kabul (BNA) The chief of the demining agency ATC, Kafayatullah Ablagh has been praised for his service in the field of de-mining and cleaning the country from mines and explosive devices.
In a meeting held here yesterday and attended among others by Sibghatullah Mujadadi and parliamentarians, Iblagh briefed the participants on his activities and achievements.
He also thanked the international community and the people of Afghanistan for their cooperation in sweeping out the explosive devices.
In his address, Sibghatullah Mujadadi appreciated Iblagh for his hard work in sweeping out the mines and his services to Jihad.
Other speakers including lawmaker Abdul Sattar Khawasi and Dr. Ayaz Niazi in their speeches said that ATC during its services had discovered and defused millions of mines and explosive devices and thus saved the lives of thousands of the people over the past more than two decades.

Kabul (BNA) Defense minister General Bismillah Mohammadi in a meeting with the chief of Defense Commission of US Congress exchanged views on regional cooperation in war on terror, press office of defense ministry said yesterday.
In the meeting the security situation in Afghanistan, region, capacity building of Afghan national army, security transition and regional cooperation in the war on terror were discussed.
Briefing the delegation, defense minister Mohammadi said that the security transition process is going on smoothly as per schedule and has been welcomed by Afghans as confidence building for the capability of national security forced.
General Mohammadi also hoped that President Hamid Karzai visit to US would have positive overcoming the challenge ahead.
In his address, Carl Leon the chief of defense commission of the congress had expressed satisfaction over the capability of Afghan national security forces, the transition process and the leadership of defense ministry of Afghanistan.

Kabul (BNA) “We were informed with regret the death of Abdul Samad Muhmand, a cultural figure of the country at the age of 45 in migration”, Minister of Information and Culture, Dr. Sayed Makhdom Raheen said the other day.
May his soul rest to heaven, expressing regret over the death of this honest servant of the country, Dr. Sayed Makhdom Raheen conveyed his sympathies to the cultural circle of the country.
Late Muhamand has been a cultural figure who was honestly serving at the National Radio-TV and some time served as head of the Afghan Advertising Enterprise of the ministry.
The ministry of information and culture consider his death as a loss and sympathizes with his friends and relatives.

Kabul (BNA) The celebration of the Constitution Week was marked in presence of Mohammad Karim Khalili second vice-president.
The gathering was attended by some Jehadi leaders and political personalities, ministers of education, higher education, public works, members of the cabinet, some members of the National Assembly, chairman of the independent election commission, members of the commission for supervision of implementation of the Constitution and some other higher government officials.
Addressing the gathering Khalili said that fortunately the rule of law has been ensured gradually in Afghanistan, and possibly the laws has been violated by some people in some parts of the country, but what is clear is the far that the contents of the enforced laws in Afghanistan is such that they will indicate their values in the future.
Touching on non-alignment of the spirit of some of the past laws, with the present Constitution he emphasized that and asked the commission for supervision of execution of Constitution and other legal organs to resort to improvement of the past laws.
He also said that the commission supervising implementation of the Constitution has the responsibility and the government and the people decisively support that commission.
At the gathering Sebghatullah Mujaddedi also spoke and considered the Constitution as a national document.
Gul Rahman Qazi the chairman of the supervising commission for execution of Constitution talked on the importance of the Constitution in the structure of the political order.
He added that adoption of over 200 resolutions, proposing of 20 legal consultations to the government, signing of 12 understanding notes with different organs, distribution of 100,000 texts of the Constitution and supervising other organs were some of the activities the commission has performed so far.
He also informed the gathering about the future programs of the commission and asked for political support to the Constitution, massive support of the people of this national document, increase in the budget of the commission, cooperation of the legal organs at the national levels.

Kabul (BNA) Led by its chairman Fazle Hadi Muslimyar, the Meshrano Jerga, upper house of parliament at presence of relatives of the three personnel of the murdered national army personnel in Baghlan, expressed sympathy to the bereaved families. 
The senate said since Amir Gul and Mohammad Kameen were accused of being involved in the murder of the national army personnel in Baghlan-e-Markazi district, instead of being tried to justice they are kept at the guesthouse of the presidential office. 
They said continued support to them will reduce people’s support towards the government. 
The senators also expressed their support towards freedom of the innocent prisoners but they voiced concern over the freedom of the Taliban who have returned to the ranks of the group.

Kabul (BNA)  Mohammad Karim Khalili second vice-present in a letter to president Hamid Karzai pertaining to the allegations of Hedayatullah Rehayee, in respect to the report of the special commission of House of People, has asked that this issue be legally followed up.
Senator Hedayatullah Rehayee in the general session of House of People dated 12 of Jaddi of current year; in respect to the report of the special commission of House of People about usurpation of government land has said that the first and second vice-president and the president have usurped some government lands. 
In the letter to the president, Khalili has said that in respect to usurpers of government land and administrative has a clear view who they may be and he support transparency and role of law in all its dimensions. 
The letter adds that these allegations are far from reality that has seriously upset me and I consider it a type of aggression against my dignity and personality. 
He has asked the president so that the issue should be pursued through the legal channels and if provided I am ready that legal action is taken against me, otherwise I am for regaining my dignity through legal organs.

Kabul (BNA) The ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Afghanistan, Mansoor Bin Saleh held farewell meeting with President Hamid Karzai at the Presidential Palace yesterday.
Matters pertaining mutual interest including enhancing cooperation between the two nations came under discussion. 
In the meeting, President Karzai described the Saudi Kingdom as brotherly and friendly country and wished good health for the Khadimul Haramain Sharifain and welfare of the people of Saudi Arabia. 
Ambassador Mansoor in the meeting had expressed happiness during his ensure and expressed gratitude to the government and people of Afghanistan for their cooperation.

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai strongly condemned the suicide attack at the regional Shura of Speenboldak district that caused civilian casualties, his office said yesterday. 
A report from Kandahar states that yesterday afternoon the enemies of the people carried a suicide attack on the regional Shura building of Speenboldak district in which five civilians were martyred and 15 others were wounded including a child. 
He called this a series of cruelty of the enemies on our innocent civilians. 
He noted that the enemies are carrying this terrorist attack in order to disrupt the routine activities of the people and this way they martyred some of our civilians and wounded others. 
He conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families and wished immediate recovery of the wounded of this incident.

NSC Discusses Issues On Its Agendas

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, the council of minister discussed terrorist attacks on the former High Peach Council Chief (HPC) Prof. Burhanuddin Rabbani, and National Directorate for Security (NDS) Chief, Assadullah Khaled, the presidential press office said yesterday.
The reports of Deputy NDS Chief, Gen, Hassamuddin who had led a delegation to the neighboring Pakistan had also been discussed at the meeting, the statement from the presidential office said adding the Pakistani authorities had assured to comprehensively follow the case.
The issue related to the handover of the international bases to the Afghan forces had also been presented by the Minister of Defense, Besmellah Mohammadi according to the statement in which up to 104 bases including equipment and facilities had been said to be delivered to the Afghan side. 
A report on torturing the people in Narkh district of Logar province by up to eight Afghan interpreters working for the international forces had also been discussed and resolved that the international forces should hand over them to the Afghan side for more investigation.
The eight persons had been reportedly escaped from the international forces, as the area residents had raised complaints over their misbehave to the foreign forces, and asked them to band over them to the Afghan forces, but the international forces said they had filed the area and are not now with them. 
The National Security Council also resolved those individuals who had committed such crime should be handed over the Afghan side to try them to the justice and judiciary organs.
Concluded with the issue of insecurity and road blockage on Herat-Badghis highway and the route between Toro Shikh and Qala-e-Naw were also discussed at the national Security Council.

Suicide Attacker Arrests In Jalalabad

Jalalabad (BNA) Police arrested a suicide attacker from Chaparhar district of Nangarhar province today. 
Mohammad Sediq Doulatzai, district governor of Chaparhar said to BNA, police officials of this district arrested a suicide attacker with two vest coats and a sack of explosive materials. 
According to Doulatzai, the suicide attacker was arrested while he was traveling by a car to Jalalabad city. 
T. Suraya-Yarzada
