Armed Talib Killed

Kabul (BNA) As a result of armed clash between police forces and Taliban an armed insurgent was killed and five police injured in Shaberghan-Sar-e-Pul highway.
Abdulhi Ramzi responsible of Jawzjan police command told BNA, the clash occurred yesterday afternoon while police forces was patrolling in the area.
According to him the policemen got slightly injures and presently they are in hospital under treatment.

7 Armed Oppositions Killed

Kabul (BNA) In a clash between Laghaman police and armed Taliban seven insurgents were killed.
The incident took place in Alishink district, Laghman province yesterday.
According to Laghman provincial press release the clash took place while armed insurgents attacked on police security post in Khankol and Dah Qazi villages.
In this clash two national police also were injured.

Afghan Athlete Defeats His Egyptian Rival

Kabul (BNA) Baz Mohammad Mubariz an athlete of the country beat his Egyptian rival.
Noorullah Shahrokhy chief of the free fighting department of the National Olympic Committee said to BNA reporter, the contest between these two free professional athletes held on Mumbai city of India last night, Baz Mohammad Mubariz beat his rival with severe blow in the third round and made him to leave the ground.
It should be said Baz Mohammad Mubariz so far has brought four Gold medals from international competitions and participated in two professional competitions.

Kabul (BNA) Three prisoners who fled one day before the New Year 1392 from central jail of Baghlan province, arrested in Kabul.
Colonel Mohammad Sadeq Muradi acting Baghlan police chief said BNA, that security command of Baghlan in close cooperation of Kabul police arrested the escapees, while they were under treatment in Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Hospital.
Among the arrested people there is a person named Zulmai a murderer and committed repeated crimes.
The accused were transferred from Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan hospital to Emergency hospital for treatment.

15 Armed Taliban Killed

Kabul (BNA) In a joint military operation in relevant areas of Aghcha district, Jawzjan province 15 armed rebels killed.
The operation started after Afghan military forces learned that the armed Taliban planning to attack on government military stations.
Asadullah Bahrami district governor of Aghcha district while confirming the report said BNA, the operation launched yesterday afternoon as a result of which 15 armed rebels killed, 8 injured and 11 others were arrested and the operation is continuing in relevant mountainous areas of Chahr Sai of that province.
During the operation amount of light and heavy weapons of armed rebels were destroyed.

Youths Having Got Higher Marks Appreciated

Kabul (BNA) The youths who have got higher marks in university exams of 1391 were appreciated by the office of the deputy minister for youth affairs of Information and Culture Ministry and the Kabul people shura.
Initially Abdul Ghafar Dawi, advisor to the Kabul people shura spoke at the ceremony and praised the youths especially that of Qais Rabeen Qarzai training academy who have found their way into the higher educational institutions and drew their attention towards their future mission.
Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture and chairman of the Kabul people shura told the youths that the youth from the majority of the Afghan population and they have prosperous future as the Afghan youth are unique at world levels in all spheres.
He added the youth of Afghanistan have grown up under bitter conditions of war and they were reared in families that they were not expecting a better future and especially the girls who sustained continued deprivations compared to the boys and most of the girls’ were threatened, however, we are fortunately witnessing that the youth are quite successful in the media and the government departments that make us hopeful of their future.
At the end letters of merits prepared by the Kabul people shura was distributed by Dr. Raheen, Abdul Ghafar Dawi, Nazifa Zaki people’s representative at the parliament, Zahir Hassan head of secretariat of the Kabul people shura and Dr. Qais Qarzai to the best students of 1391 exams.
Dr. Raheen also praised the victory of Parwaiz Sakhizada who have won third place at the Kabdi matches in Punjab of Pakistan among the 26 countries.

Kabul (BNA) Presidential spokesman Aimal Faizi has said if Pakistan not cooperating in peace talks, Afghanistan would choose other ways.
In talks with AFP, he rejected the notion that President has several times visited Pakistan during which he described terrorism and extremism as threat to both the countries but Pakistan, instead libeled him as obstacle on the way to achieving peace.
Faizi also noted that Pakistan has shown little interest to peace and instead put preconditions to encourage Taliban for peace talks.
In this regard, he noted that Pakistan called on Afghanistan to cut off ties with India, send army officers for training to Pakistan and ink strategic agreement with Pakistan.
Meantime, Faizi described the pre-conditions unacceptable, saying India is one of the close partners of Afghanistan.
The people of Afghanistan, Faizi said would not allow inking strategic agreement with Pakistan because suicide bombers come from across the Durand Line and kills Afghans.
Nevertheless, Faizi pointed out that Afghanistan government believes that Pakistan can play key role in peace talks between the government of Afghanistan and the armed oppositions, because the Taliban leaders are in Pakistan.

Kabul (BNA) The government of Afghanistan has cancelled sending a delegation of army officers to Pakistan in the wake of shelling from Pakistan on Kunar province, press office of foreign affairs ministry said.
The delegation was supposed to visit Staff Collage of Quetta at the invitation of Pakistan army, the source said, adding falling the artillery shelling from Pakistan soil on Kunar last week the program was cancelled.

Kabul (BNA) The US Special Envoy for Afghanistan says that the UN is emphasizing on a transparent nationwide elections in Afghanistan.
John Kubish the UN Special Envoy for Afghanistan told the press that in the meeting that was held at the UN headquarters on 19th of March all members of the UN welcomed compilation of the election law in Afghanistan and they stressed on an impartial foundation for addressing election complaints.
He added that the UN Secretary General Ban-k-moon in his speech expressed his support of the peace process led by the Afghans and regional cooperation and emphasized on the holding of transparent elections and this view of Ban-k-moon has been reflected in the UN resolution as well.
He added that at the UN general assembly discussions was also made on distribution of electronic identity cards in Afghanistan and called it important for holding of elections in Afghanistan.
He stressed that at this meeting all members strongly supported the peace and reconciliation and economic development, preservation of women rights and serious struggle against narcotics in Afghanistan.
The future elections of Afghanistan will be fully led by the Afghans and they will manage it while world representatives will be present for consultations.
He added that he has given necessary consultations to the Ministry of Justice with respect to creation of election complaints commission and supervision of election is important for us.

Dr. Rasoul Recives His Latvian Counterpart

Kabul (BNA) Dr. Zalmai Rassoul met with the Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Edgars Rinkevic, at his office yesterday morning.
At this meeting the two sides discussed the bilateral relationship, regional issues as well as cooperation between Afghanistan and the European Union.
The two sides agreed to sign a document on political consultations between the two foreign ministries.
The two Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the area of civil aviation.
A small contingent of Latvian soldiers is deployed in Faryab province helping ensure security alongside Afghan Security Forces.
