27 Uplift Projects Completed In Baghlan

Pul-e-Khumri (BNA) 27 uplift projects have been completed in one month in Baghlan province. 

According to Eng. Shafiqullah Almyar, provincial director for rural rehabilitation and development, the projects costing 47 million Afs have been completed in Dushi, Khinjan, Pulihesar, Bano, Fering, Guzargah-e-Noor, Pulikumri city and Baghlan-e-Markazi districts. 

He said with completion of the projects, essential facilities have been provided to more than 6000 families. 

According to the source, the projects include construction canals, digging drinking water’s wells, repairing roads and construction protective walls, bridges and water reservoirs.

Nangarhar Blast Causes No Casualties

Jalalabad (BNA) Some explosive devices was placed by armed opposition in western road of Eidga congregational mosque of Jalalabad city exploded this morning.

This explosion inflicted no casualties, officials said. 

Spokesperson for Nangarhar governor confirming this report said to BNA, this event had no financial and human casualties.

Taliban Spokesman Arrests

Kabul (BNA) Afghan Security sources said that they have captured a person that is to be Zbiullah Mojahid spokesman of Taliban. 

This issue was said by Sediq Sediqi spokesperson of the interior affairs ministry in a press conference.

Sediqi added that this person has been arrested along with his four bodyguards in a special operation of police forces from Sar Roiuza area, of Paktia province. 

According to him investigation started to realize that the arrested man is Zabiullah Mojahid spokesman of Taliban or other person. 

This person has been handed over to national security directorate.

13 Armed Insurgents Captured In Nangarhar

Kabul (BNA) Afghan and coalition forces captured 13 armed insurgents on Saturday in the eastern province of Nangarhar, an official said. 

According to Nangarhar police, the armed insurgents have been arrested in Bati-Kot district of the province along with numerous arms and explosives. 

Separately, Parwan police discovered explosives-laden bucket set by armed insurgents in the outskirts of Koh-e-Safi pass and was spoiled by Afghan police.


Faizabad (BNA) It is expected that poppy cultivated farms of over 1270 hectares in Badakhshan should be eliminated, asked Zarar Ahmad Muqbel Counter Narcotics Minister in his meeting with Shah Waliullah Adeeb Governor of Badakhshan, district governors and heads of provincial departments. 

The governor of Badakhshan asked Muqbel that in order to eliminate poppy there is need for equipping of police for struggle against narcotics and provision of improved wheat seeds and fertilizer for farmers. 

He also asked for deployment of security posts on the Afghan-Tajik borders and attention should be focused on improving roads. 

Other speakers included Shah Abdul Ahad Fazli member of the commission for narcotics and moral abuse of House of People and Zabihullah Ateeq head of the Badakhshan provincial council asking the government for building center for narcotic addicts in districts of the province.

NSC Discusses Security For Loya Jirga


 Kabul (BNA) Hamid Karzai President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan chaired the National Security Council meeting at the presidential place yesterday afternoon.

The meeting attended by vice presidents, Headayet Amin Arsalah Senior Minister, Ministers of Defense and Interior, National Security Advisor, General Director of National Security Department, Chief of Staff, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Counter-narcotics, tribal and frontier affairs, head of local organs, political deputy minister of foreign ministry and some other high ranking government officials, the meeting discussed adoption of better security measures for successful holding of Loya Jirga. 

The meeting decided that under the supervision of General Bismellah Khan Minister of Interior Affairs strict security measures are adopted for successful holding of the Traditional Loya Jirga so that people representatives and elders of the country can attend this Jirga with peace of mind. 

The security in charges assured the National Security Council that the security forces of the country will strive hard day and night so that the traditional Loya Jirga is convened successfully.


Lashkargah (BIA) 15 people lost their lives in a traffic accident on Herat-Kandahar highway in the vicinities of Gereshk district of Helmand province yesterday. 

Colonel Shadi Khan, police chief of Gereshk district said to this news agency, a 303 passenger bus was going from Kabul to Herat crashed with a motorbike and a corolla car in Yakhchal area, Gereshk district, in which 15 passengers of these vehicles were lost their lives.  

According to Shadi Khan, the driver of the 303 car escaped and police is searching him. 

Among victims of this event, women and children are included.

Kandahar (BNA) Two persons were killed and seven others injured in a clash between the two families in Arghandab district of Kandahar province today. 

Governor of Arghandab Hajji Shah Mohammad Ahmadi confirming the event said, the event came out on governmental land in Nagohan area, Arghandab district which the two sides had disputed on ownership of the mentioned land. 

According to the source, the land belongs to the government.  The case is under investigation by police.

Kabul (BIA) On behalf of Hamid Karzai, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, separate congratulatory messages have been delivered on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to Najib Miqati, Prime Minister of Lebanon, Abdullah Gul and Rajab Tayyep Urdoghan, president and prime minister of Turkey, Ali Abdullah Saleh, president of Yemen, Jalal Talibani, Iraq’s president and Noori Al-Maliki, Iraq’s prime minister, His Excellency Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Saudi’s king and other Arabic countries presidents and prime ministers.


Kabul (BIA) President Hamid Karzai flayed mine explosion in Laghman that as a result, a journalist belong to a local radio along with seven civilians were martyred. 

The president evaluated it the work of the enemies of Afghan people. 

Sharing his sorrow with the families of the incident’s victims, the president invited from the Court of Almighty Allah Paradise for martyrs and great patience for the bereaved families.
