Unity, Oneness Brings Victory, Marshal Fahim

Kabul (BNA) First Vice President, Marshal Mohammad Qaseem Fahim while meeting a number of elders, ulema, influential and Jehadi commanders of Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir and Northern districts of Kabul called unity and solidarity of the people as the manifestation of the brave people victory and overcoming of the problems. 
Held at the Charikar city, center of Parwan province, the ceremony was also attended by the governors, police commanders and some in charges of the said provinces, Marshal Fahim added that the enemies of the people of Afghanistan should know that our people with their unity and solidarity and by supporting their government as the days of Jehad prepared for sacrifice on the path of consolidating the pillars of rule of law in the country. 
Scholars representing others touching on the importance of unity and solidarity among the people said that killing of innocent people is rejected in Holy Islam religion and it is a great crime before Allah Almighty. 
The governors of the provinces too touched on the need for consolidation of security and stability in their provinces and called it the product of cooperation and support of the people. 
Meanwhile, the elders and the provincial authorities reiterated on the need for cooperation to overcome the problems.

Kabul (BNA) Regretfully, I was informed that the enemies of peace and security of the people of Afghanistan in a bloody terrorist attack in Taluqan, the Takhar provincial capital has martyred a number of innocent defenseless countrymen including Abdul Mutalebh Baig an influential personality and an elected deputy at the House of People and wounded a number of others. 
I strongly condemn this inhuman terrorist attack on innocent civilians and call it against all human and Islamic norms. 
I convey my sympathies to dear countrymen who were martyred at this tragic incident and wish immediate recovery to the wounded of the incident. 
This bloody incident is not the only one that is carried by the sworn enemies of the country and not the last, yesterday tens of our countrymen including our women children, was martyred at the Ashura Mourning Ceremonies in Kabul and today tens of our countrymen were martyred during the funeral ceremony in Taluqan. 
Such actions indicate that terrorists are not only the enemy of our authorities, but they are also the enemy of our influential of Afghanistan and the  perpetrators of crime against humanities and it shows that the government of Afghanistan and the international community should act in harmonized manner against terrorism. 
The enemies of the people of Afghanistan should not forget that our people are united in safeguarding their country and they will not leave the path for ensuring peace and security in their country. 
I ask the country’s security forces to undertake proper measures for prevention of such incidents in the future.

Kabul (BNA) The message notes that I was informed with regret that Abdul Mutaleb Baig, an elder and a great commander of Jehad and Resistance of the people of Afghanistan and Takhar deputy at the House of People along with a number of other countrymen were martyred as a result of a suicide bombing in Taluqan, the provincial capital. 
By conveying my deepest sympathies on this incident to the bereaved family of Abdul Mutaleb Baig and other martyrs of this bloody terrorist incident, I wish peace for the souls of the martyrs and ask patience for the bereaved families. 
I share the sorrows of all the families who lost their dear ones and those wounded as a result of this terrorist attack that is against all accepted human and Islamic values. 
I hope that the wounded of this incident recover immediately. 
It is said that Abdul Mutaleb Big, has been a commander of Jehad and Resistance of the people of Takhar who fought bravely against the Red Army invasion and other enemies of the people of Afghanistan and accompanied his colleagues till the victory. 
After triumph of Jehad Abdul Mutaleb Baig served in military and civil services and he was elected as representative of his people to the House of People and had a big role in ensuring of security and stability in Takhar. 
His services will be remembered and his death is a loss for the people.  Once again I convey my sympathies to his bereaved family, other victims of this tragic incident. 
May their departed souls rest in peace.

Kabul (BNA) Separate congratulatory messages have been dispatched by Dr. Zalmai Rasul Minister of Foreign Affairs to the foreign ministers of Bulgaria, Macedonia, Corsica Albania, Monte Negrok Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia Her Guinea, and Slovenia. 
In the messages it is said that “I am pleased to extend my sincerest congratulations on the advent of the New Year 2012. 
I am sure that cooperation and amicable ties existing among our countries would further consolidate in different spheres”.

President Karzai Flays Takhar Suicide Attack

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai strongly condemned the suicide attack took place in Taluqan, the provincial capital of northern Takhar province resulting in killing and wounding of large number of innocent countrymen. 
As a result of as suicide attack carried out by the terrorists at a funeral ceremony of a tribal elder, in Saraye Sang Village of Taluqan city of Takhar province yesterday afternoon, 19 persons including Mutaleb Baig a member of the House of People were martyred and 40 others wounded. 
President Karzai talked with the minister of interior and the governor of Takhar soon after the incident took place and strongly condemning it, said that the terrorists with all their merciless acts attacked our innocent people who were praying for the death body of their relative. 
This act once again indicated the terrorist’s ugly anti-Islamic action that they do not want our people to attend a funeral ceremony of their dear one in peaceful and calm atmosphere. 
President Karzai conveyed his deep sympathies to the bereaved families of martyrs and wished immediate recovery for the wounded of this incident.

CIP Activities Deactivated

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai national Security Council meeting was held in the presidential palace, the presidential press office said. 
The meeting which was attended by the vice presidents, ministers of national defense, interior, finance, foreign and chief of counter-narcotics and chief of NDS, chief of army staffs and head of local organs discussed the general condition of security in the country and local police activities in some northern provinces, such as Baghlan, Kunduz and Talkhar. 
Minister of Interior, Gen. Besmellah Mohammadi presented report about the compulsory activities of the local structures for preservation of important establishments (CIP) in Faryab, Jouzjan, Sar-e-Pul and Laghman provinces. 
Gen. Mohammadi said he discussed the issue with the NATO general commander in Afghanistan, General Allen related to the activities of the CIP and annulled its activities in the said provinces. 
The CIP that had illegally been carrying out activities by the NATO forces in the said provinces and raised concerns of the people is deactivated. 
Meanwhile, the presentation of the ministry of interior on assignation of the public security police leadership had also been ratified at the meeting.

11 Tons Of Narcotic Seized In Kandahar

Kandahar (BNA) Afghan and foreign forces reported from discovering of more than 11 tons of narcotics during several separate operations. 
According to BNA, these materials were seized from Daman, Speenboldak and Panjwai districts of Kandahar province. 
According to the source, Afghan and ISAF soldiers in an operation in Speenboldak discovered 10,000 Kg of hashish from a depot.  
Meanwhile, the combined forces seized 136 Kg of hashish in an operation which was carried out in Panjwai district of that province. 
Also, the Afghan and ISAF soldiers seized 450 Kg of hashish from Daman district of Kandahar province as well.

Aibak (BNA) Nine civilians including a woman were wounded in a traffic accident in Samangan province this morning. 
Colonel Mohammad Abrahim head of Samangan traffic said to this news agency, this incident occurred when a vehicle struck with a car in Hasankhail area. 
The injured were shifted to Samangan provincial hospital. 
Dr. Gul Ahmad Qorayashi in charge of provincial hospital said that seven injured are residents of Samangan province and two others are residents of Kabul. 
According to him, four injured of this event has been transferred to the regional hospital of Balkh province. Translated by Suraya-Yarzada

ANA Soldier Kills Two ISAF Soldiers

Farah (BNA) In a clash between Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and ISAF an ANA soldiers martyred and four ISAF soldiers wounded in Balabolok district of Farah province.
General Mohaideen Ghori Head of 207 Zafar army division told this news agency, this event occurred at the headquarters of ANA in Balabolok district of Farah province yesterday.
The source denied saying the details on this regard but he said, a delegation has been send to the area to evaluate the incident and after evaluation the details will be put on the disposal of the media.
But, Ghousdeen district governor of Balabolok told BNA a quarrel which ended with dispute a ANA soldier opened fire on ISAF soldiers in which two ISAF soldiers were killed and one of them injured.
The source said, in a reaction of ISAF soldiers an ANA soldier was killed and two others injured.

Kabul (BNA) At least 20 civilians were martyred and 50 others wounded in a suicide attack in Taloqan city, center of Takhar province today.
According to the eyewitnesses, the suicide attacker exploded himself in a funereal ceremony of a tribal elder in Sarai Nang Mosque in Taloqan city.
Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai press responsible of Pamir 303 division in the north confirming the report told this news agency, based on the first reports 20 people including Abdul Mutalib representative of Takhtar people in the parliament were martyred and 50 others were wounded.
According to him, these people were gathered for corpse pray of a tribal elder in the mosque.
It is said that the wounded persons were shifted to the hospital.
