Kabul (BNA) The chairman and members of the psychological association in their meeting with second vice-president Mohammad Karim Khalili said that the association members are lecturers and graduates of psychology sphere. 
They shared some of the problems and their proposals for reducing psychological patients in the country. 
They added that war and several years of violence, poverty and joblessness are the major factors of this disease in the country and non-attention to this may bring in unpleasant repercussions. 
They asked the government of Afghanistan to pay attention in employing the graduates of psychology in education and health sectors and this way prepare the ground for attraction of the young educated people in the country Khalili welcomed the lecturers and the graduates of psychology and called on the importance of this group of educated cadres in reduction of psychological diseases in the country. 
He added that practical steps will be taken for attraction of the graduates in different spheres and shall advise different organs to attract them and use their capacities in providing services to the needy people.

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai met last evening with the members of the US Senate, David Dryer and David price at the presidential palace. 
At the outset, the US Senate members congratulated president Karzai on signing of the Afghan US strategic cooperation agreement and its adoption by the National Assembly of Afghanistan and considered this agreement a very important document for the two countries. 
The US Senate members also informed the president on their meetings with both houses of National Assembly of Afghanistan. 
They also discussed cooperation between the legislative and judiciary bodies of Afghanistan and the US. 
Calling the strategic long-term cooperation agreement between the two nations as very significant, president Karzai expressed the hope that this document would lead peace, stability and reduction of civilian casualties in military operations. 
He added that civilian casualties during the military operations in Afghanistan a real threat to the people.

Kabul (BNA) The elders and influential of Great Paktia and Maidan-Wardak in their meeting with president Karzai asked for serious legal pursuit of the perpetrators of martyrdom of Mawlawi Arsalan Rehmani. 
At the meeting Senators Khalilullah Feruzi, Senator Mohammad Daoud Assas, tribal leader Abdul Rehman Zedran and Wakeel Mahmoud Khan Sulaimankhail asked the president to seriously investigate the martyrdom of Mawlawi Rehmani and its perpetrators are legally punished. 
President Karzai at this meeting conveyed his sympathies with the family members of Paktia and Wardak elders over the martyrdom of Mawlawi Rehmani. 
He called Mawlawi Rehmani an outstanding leader, religious scholars, Mujahid and peace supporter and progress of Afghanistan as well as seeking national unity of the nation and called his death a loss. 
He stressed that in order to appreciate the services of Mawlawi Rehmani services towards the peace process his son Mohammad Usman Rehmani is appointed in place of his father as member of the senate and member of peace council. 
The elders praised this decision of president Karzai. 
He assured the elders the government will pursue the case of martyrdom of Mawlawi Rehamani and he has instructed the national security department to accelerate its investigations.

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai heard the report of the assigned commission about the recent bombardments of the coalition forces on the people of Gerdi Suri district of Paktia province. 
Presidential advisor Wazir Safi chairman of the commission presented the report and said that the delegation went to the area and conveyed the sympathies of the president to the bereaved families and the people of the area. 
He added that as per the reports of the security organs and the people of the area it was revealed that in the morning of 16th of the month fighting had flared up between the government and opposition troops and in the evening of the same day the coalition aircraft came and dropped three bombs on the Gerde Suri district as a result of which the whole family of Shafie were killed and 8 others were martyred. 
They said that only 8th year old girls and a 3 year old boy remained from the family. 
He added that the fighting existed there and the opposition forces were there but it is not correct that a fire had taken place from the home of the victims and that the women and children there had no ability to fire on any one. 
He stressed that the people of the district is hopeful that request the president of the country to provide them with financial support to ensure the livelihood of the two children and to rebuild their home. 
Meeting with the martyrs family members, president Karzai told them that any aid would not lesson your pains and I am instructing the related organs to provide you with land in Paktia and in Kabul and rebuild the destroyed home. 
He also instructed the related organs to provide financial assistance to the two remaining children of this incident in order to meet their livelihood and their education expenses.

Kabul (BNA) President Karzai chaired the National Security meeting evaluating security situation in the country, presidential press office said. 
The meeting was also attended by Vice-presidents, senior presidential advisor and the in charges of the security organs. 
Waheedullah Shahrani presented a report on the security problems in implementing major gas and petroleum projects. 
According to this report, some of the security in charges and influential are misusing their power and they are interfering in gas and petroleum projects by utilizing the services of their arms persons for obtaining their personal benefits. 
The meeting instructed the security organs to adopt measures for ensuring the security of the country’s mines, preparing of better conditions for extraction of gas and petroleum and to prevent the interferences of the government in charges and irresponsible people and legally pursue those violating the norms. 
The meeting also assessed existence of illegal arms, vehicles with black glasses, walking of irresponsible armed individuals bussing escort guards vehicles over the accepted norms by the government officials, the national assembly members and the private sector and considered such irregularities as serious threat to the national security of the country. 
The meeting also instructed the ministry of interior and national security department to adopt serious measures towards disarming of irresponsible individuals, militia groups, collection of illegal arms, and usage of vehicles with black glasses, guards and escort guards over the accepted norms. 
The ministry of interior also received instructions to inform the ISAF and NATO and foreign political missions the decisions of the National Security Council on stooping the usage of black glasses on their vehicles. 
The meeting also instructed the finance ministry to stop importing of the vehicles with black glasses to the country. 
At the end of the meeting the interior ministry was advised to undertake measures for collection of arms from the irresponsible groups and militias throughout the country and inform the council of the progress of its measures in this respect.

Kabul (BNA) Police recovered 29 Kalashnikovs from a vehicle during a search operation in the capital Kabul, while two civilians lost their lives to a roadside bombing in northern Balkh province, officials said on Saturday. 
The 101st Asmaee police zone in Kabul said the assault rifles were seized in the 10th police district on Saturday and the car’s driver arrested. 
In a statement, police said a number of suspected militants were also detained in various parts of the capital over the past 24 hours. 
In Balkh, a roadside bomb blast ripped through a joint patrol of Afghan and foreign troops in Chamtal district a day earlier the ISAF media office in the north said. 
The joint force suffered no casualties in the attack that occurred in the Muqran area, but two passerby were killed, the force said in a statement. 
Residents confirmed the blast, but police expressed unawareness.  Elsewhere, two suspected militants who wanted to place bombs inside the graves of recently killed policemen were arrested in the Shah Joi district of southern Zabul province. 
The town’s administrative head said after the arrests on Friday afternoon, police found a bomb planted on one of the graves. 
The policemen had been killed in clashes with insurgents, Mohammad Sadiq said. 
In Kandahar, intelligence officials detained a suspect in connection with the assassination of former Panjwai district chief. 
Fazlul Din Agha was killed along with two of his sons and as many guards in a suicide attack six months ago in Kandahar city.

Kabul (BNA) Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul is leaving for Turkey on Sunday to attend the World Economic Forum on Middle East, North Africa and Eurasia in Istanbul, an official said on Saturday. 
The forum will focus on Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia and relations among these regions. 
The theme of the forum is “Roadmaps for Reform, Pathways to Inclusive Growth”. 
About 1,000 leaders of governments, business, media and non-governmental organizations are scheduled to participate in the event. 
Later, the minister would visit China to represent Afghanistan at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, slated for July 6, Foreign ministry spokesman Jsanan Musazai told a news conference in Kabul. 
Participants of the meeting would confer on various issues, including the economic situation, the political landscape in Gulf countries and regional security. 
Musazai said Rassoul’s participation in the summit would further improve Afghanistan’s ties with SCO member countries. 
Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are members of the organization, founded on June 15, 2001. 
Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Iran and Mongolia have the status of observers while Turkmenistan attends SCO gatherings as guest nation. 
Musazai said President Hamid Karzai would also participate in the summit, where he is expected to meet his Chinese counterpart. 
He said the presidents would announce their willingness on signing a strategic cooperation agreement. 
“The two leaders will announce on the occasion that they want to have a strategic cooperation agreement,” the spokesman concluded.

Kabul (BNA) Kabul police once again began collecting arms and tearing the black films from vehicles in Kabul yesterday. 
Interior ministry in a statement called on police, lawmakers and influential figures to stop driving tainted glasses and carrying arms without license, warming to restore to force if anyone ignores. 
Meantime, Kabul residents are doubtful over the implementation of the order even though they welcomed the decision for improving security. 
However, they said that such orders had been issued in the past but ended in fiasco.

Fifteen Drug Smugglers Punished

Kabul (BNA) The anti-drug court has sentenced 15 persons to 20 years prison on charge of involvement in drug and alcohol yesterday. 
All the convicted men, according to a source with the court are from Kabul, Farah, Helmand and Nangarhar. 
Some 2000 kg opium and 1000 liters alcohol were seized from their possession. 
It has merit to mention that 96 drug smugglers including foreign national have been convicted over the past month.

Six Terrorist Organizers Detained

Kabul (BNA) Security forces have captured six organizers of terrorist attacks of Haqqani network from different parts of the country y6esterday, NATO said in a press release. 
According to the press release, these terrorists were captured from Khost, Badghis and Logar provinces during which several militants were killed and arms and ammunitions seized by security forces.
