Faizabad (BNA) The anti-narcotic police of Badakhshan have destroyed a heroin projection factory in Dariam District, Badakhshan yesterday.
Sanaullah Rohani police spokesman of Badakhshan told BNA local correspondent, 46kg of opium, heroin production machine, a generator, and other equipment were seized from the factory.
A man has been detained in connection of the case, he added.

Maimana (BNA) The police spokesman of Faryab reported from killing of 17 Taliban insurgents.
Karim Yourish said, the Taliban were killed following their massive attack on police checkpoints in Qaisar District.
Taliban carried out massive attack on police checkpoints in the mentioned district which were faced with sever resistance of security troops, in which 17 Taliban insurgents including their senior commander were killed and five others have been injured, said Yourish.
Police spokesman of Faryab said, three policemen were lost their lives and no harm and casualties incurred to residents.

Kabul (BNA) During a meeting with Ahmad Nader Naderi, head of the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, spoke about reforms in Afghanistan's public administration and good governance, a statement said.
During the videoconference, head of the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission presented his initial report on the progress of reforms, especially the human resources situation and the structures of the Afghan government as a whole, the presidential statement added. After listening to the report, President Ghani issued the necessary instructions to the head of the Independent Commission for Administrative Reforms and Civil Services to complete the assessments and bring about better reforms in the country's civil administrations, the statement added.

Kabul (BNA) A flight of EU Humanitarian Air Bridge will depart on June 15 from Netherlands to Kabul, carrying 100 tons of cargo to fight coronavirus, EU said on Monday. The EU is also providing a new aid package of €39 million to boost coronavirus response as well as to help victims of war, forced displacement and natural disasters in Afghanistan. "At this difficult time, the EU continues to stand by the most vulnerable in Afghanistan.
The coronavirus pandemic poses huge logistical challenges for the humanitarian community, while the needs remain high in critical areas. With this air bridge, the EU is delivering vital assistance such as food, nutrition, water, shelter to ensure aid reaches as many people as possible and to help support the people of Afghanistan," EU Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarcic, said. EU humanitarian projects in Afghanistan focus on providing emergency healthcare, shelter, food assistance, access to clean water and sanitation facilities, as well as various protection services supporting women and children. Since 2019, almost €100 million in humanitarian support has been allocated to ensure critical relief assistance to the most vulnerable. In addition, the EU-funded Emergency Response Mechanism helps people recently displaced across Afghanistan. In 2019 and 2020, the Mechanism reached 400,000 people in all provinces through the delivery of aid such as clean water and access to sanitation services.

Kabul (BNA) Pakistan’s exports of goods and services to Afghanistan witnessed decrease of 21.87 percent during the first ten months of financial year (2019-20) compared to the corresponding period of last year, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported.
The overall exports to Afghanistan were recorded at $808.644 million during July-April (2019-20) against exports of $985.572 million during July-April (2018-19), showing negative growth of 21.87 percent, SBP data revealed. Overall Pakistan’s exports to other countries witnessed decrease of 2.40 percent in ten months, from $20.134 billion to $19.649 billion, the SBP data revealed. On the other hand, the exports from Afghanistan into Pakistan during the period were recorded at $115.747 million against $149.322 million last year, showing decreased of 22.48 percent in first ten months of this year.
The overall exports into the country decreased by 16.93 percent, from $43.447 billion to $36.090 billion, according to the data. Based on the trade figures, the trade of goods and services with Afghanistan witnessed decrease of 17.13 percent in surplus during first ten months of ongoing fiscal year as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
The surplus during the period under review was recorded at $693 million against $836.250 million during same period of last year, showing negative growth of 17.13 percent, the data revealed.

Kabul (BNA) NATO’s senior civilian representative (SCR) in Afghanistan Stefano Pontecorvo says the Taliban must honor their promises on reduction of violence. The new SCR, who took up his post on June1, tweeted that he held a video conference with Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar. He wrote:
“Had a very good meeting with Hanif Atmar. Despite challenges, it is important to maintain momentum towards intra-Afghan negotiations.” The Taliban must fulfill their commitments, reduce violence and pursue peace for the benefits of all Afghans.” Pontecorvo, who replaced Nicolas Kay, asked the insurgents to honor their promises on the reduction in violence.

Sunday June 14, 2020 PUL-E-ALAM CITY (BNA) Four members of a family were killed and two others were wounded by unknown gunmen in central Logar province the night before last. Dedar Lawang spokesman of Logar governor said, the armed men storm on a residential house in relevant areas of Pul-e-Alam city the provincial capital of the province, as a result four members of the family lost their lives and two more were wounded. The main reason behind the incident is not clear, and a delegation has start assessing regarding the event, Lawang added. M.A.Ansari

Sunday June 14, 22020 PUL-E-KHUMRI CITY (BNA) Afghan security forces by launching two separate military operations succeeded to detain a murderer and a narcotic drug smuggler in northern Baghlan province. Ministry of Interior by releasing a statement issued that the murderer and narcotic drug smuggler were arrested during two joint military operations conducted by Afghan national police and Afghan national army troops in relevant areas of Pul-e-Khumri city the provincial capital of the province. The murderer was involved in several murder, robbery and kidnapping cases, the statement added. Some narcotic drug type of hashish have been seized from the arrested smuggler, the statement concluded. M.A.Ansari

Sunday June 14, 2020 Kabul (BNA) At least 19 people were arrested accused of different criminal cases during several separate military operations conducted by Afghan national police personnel in relevant areas of 6 provinces. Ministry of Interior in a statement reported that the people were arrested accused of armed robbery, people harrassment and disturbing security. A Kalashnikov, 9 pistols, a vehicle and three motorcycles have been seized from the arrested people, the statement added. M.A.Ansari

Sunday June 14, 2020 FIROZ KOH CITY (BNA) At least seven Afghan National Policemen (ANP) were martyred following Taliban attack in western Ghor province the night before last. The incident took place, while a group of Taliban fighters storm on Abak security forces’ checkpoint located in Pasaband district of the province. Security officials in Pasaband district told media, Taliban militants also sustained heavy casualties during the attack , but the exact number is not clear. Based on unconfirmed reports, dozens fighters of Taliban group have plan to launche attack on security checkpoints around Minaret of Jam. A security soldier belonged to the security checkpoints demanded further security troops and military equipment to defend probably attack of Taliban fighters. Local and security officials of Ghor said nothing about the incident so far. M.A.Ansari
