Insurgents’ commander arrested

Kabul (BNA) a commander of insurgents along with two of his men arrested by the National Army forces in Helmand province yesterday.
The National Defense Ministry Press Office said the National Army forces carried out a clearing operation in the relevant areas of Lashkarga of Helmand province in which a commander of armed insurgents along with two of his men arrested.
The commander was responsible for providing military equipment and launching attacks in the province.
According to another report, the National Army forces launching an operation in the surrounding areas of Gardiz city Paktia province arrested 3 insurgents and seized a quantity of weapons.

High School Building Inaugurated

Pul-e-Khomri (BNA) a new high school building was inaugurated  in Nahreen district of Baghlan province.
Abdul Bashir Aryan an official of Baghlan Education Department said the building has been constructed with the assistant of Swedish Committee at the cost of 2600,000 dollars.
According to Aryan, the school has 21 classrooms, with other educational facilities and 1400  girls students are taught by 40 teacher in two times.

Eighteen Militants Killed

Kabul (BNA) eighteen militants were killed in joint operations launched by Afghan and coalition forces in some provinces of the country.
Interior Ministry Press Office said BNA, the operations carried out  in the relevant areas of Jouzjan, Ghazni, Badghis and Helmand provinces as a result of whic18 militants were killed,  5 wounded and 6 others arrested and a quantity of ammunition seized too. 
According to another report, the National Police Forces of Kabul arrested 5 persons accused of killing, robbery, kidnapping from 6th, 8th, 15th precincts of Kabul city and Charasiab district .

Twenty Taliban killed

Khost (BNA) the security officials of Khost province confirmed that Twenty armed Taliban were killed and nine others have been wounded in an air attack of ISAF forces.
The 203 Police Unit of Khost provinces said BNA, the attack occurred in Mosakhail district the nightbefore.
The source added, Taliban wanted to attack a security post of National Army forces, targeted by air attacks of ISAF troops and killed.

Nine Militants Killed

Kabul (BNA) nine armed militants were killed in an operation carried out by Afghan security forces in Uruzgan province.
The National Defense Ministry Press Office said BNA, the operation was launched in different parts of Urozgan province, in which nine armed militants were killed, five wounded and a quantity of heavy and light weapons were seized.
Another report says that, four insurgents were wounded in a cleansing operation luanched by National Army Forces in the surrounding areas of Charkh district of Logar province.
Three anti-vehicle mines, 1000 military equipments and a motorbike were captured.

Taliban Senior Commander Arrested

Kabul (BNA )a senior commander of the Taliban was arrested in an operation by National Army Forces in Kandahar province yesterday.
National Defense Ministry,s Press Office said BNA, the commander was carrying destructive and terrorist activities in the relevant areas of Maiwand district of Kandahar province.
According to another report, a commander of the Taliban was arrested in Logar province yesterday.
According to National Defense Ministry, the commander was responsible for providing military equipments and financial support to insurgents was arrested in an operation by national army forces along with a rocket launcher and amount of propagation documents from suburb of Pul-e-Alam center of Logar province.

Six Mine Planter Killed

Kandahar (BNA) Six mine planters were killed in Kandahar province the night before last
Jaweed Faisal Spokesman for the governor of Kandahar said BNA, the mine planters wanted to plant mines in the Zheri and Panjwai districts that their own mines exploded and killed them.
Faisal added three mine planters wanted to plant a mine on a public road in Panjwai district; the mine exploded and killed them.

Four Armed Taliban Killed

Kandahar (BNA)four armed Taliban were killed in ISAF air attack in Kandahar province yesterday.
Jaweed Faisal spokesman for Kandahar governor said BNA, the Taliban were killed in an air attack of ISAF forces in the Mandi area, Meaneshen district.
In another operation carried out by National Police and Army forces in the Meaneshin district of Kandahar province, a quantity of explosives was seized. The explosives were discovered from a hideout of the Taliban in that  district.
According to another report, a national police was martyred and three insurgents were killed in a clash between armed insurgents and security forces in the Dasht-e-Archi district of Kunduz province.

Kabul (BNA): Ministry of Water and Power and Independent National Standard Administration (INSA) signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for standardizing technical projects’ plans and the ministry’s contracts.
The (MoU) was signed by Minister of Water and Power Mohammad Ismail and chairman for INSA in Kabul.
According the agreement, Ministry of Water and Power is committed to deliver particular technical plans and contracts to INSA.
Based on the agreement, INSA is committed to provide proper facilities for electro-technical committee and pay full consideration towards establishing and developing of qualities in laboratory testing and issuing qualified certificates acceptable to international standards.
Before signing the agreement, Minister Water and Power said, “Standard is valuable enough in maintaining effective energy and would put positive impacts on quality of projects.”
Meanwhile, a workshop under the title of ‘coordination among sectorial organs held, aiming to disseminate national standards presently exists in Ministry of Water and Power.’
The workshop is funded by GTZ.
Popalzai Popal, head of INSA told the participants of the workshop INSA has taken steps towards development of qualified national infrastructure and currently 251 national standards have been approved in various sections.

Kabul (BNA): Around 260 girls and women who were enrolled at the Commercial Development Services Office of Kawyan ended their training period and were introduced to some private foundations.
Addressing the ceremony Soraya Paikan Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled insisted on the role of women and their share in improvement of family economy.
Kamila Sediqi head of the Kawyan office explained the aim of the project which is upgrading of the capacities of women and their employment at private sector.
She added that based an agreement signed with private sector the project has been designed with the cooperation of the USAID.
She added that under the project 260 girls and women will be attracted by the private sector.
Khan Jan Alekozai Deputy Chairman of Chambers of Commerce and Industries also promised to cooperate in providing job opportunities for women in private sector.
He asked the government to prepare the ground for upgrading professional skills of women.
Zuhra Sadat In Charge of the Salar Shakeb office in the ceremony said her office has the capacity for attracting 40 women in administrative, accounting and governance departments and she added fortunately a number of women have been employed at this office and the women’s training before employment was a positive step indeed.
Representatives of around 30 organizations in offices were present at the ceremony, they promised to employ eligible women in relevant positions.
