Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai and Prince Krim Aga Khan while Minister of Information and Culture, Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen and Kabul Mayor, Mohammad Younus Nawandish were also present inaugurated officially the tomb of Emperor Tiamur Shah Ghazni the other day. 
The work of rehabilitation of the tomb completed recently.
When president Karzai and Prince Karim Aga Khan entered into the court yard of Tiamur Shah Tomb, the process of construction work of the tomb was explained by Maiwandi one of the in charges concerned.
The building of the tomb of emperor Tiamur Shah Durani sustained much damages during war years and during recent years, the tomb was changed into center of gathering of addicts that as a result of efforts made by the ministry of information and culture and cooperation of Aga Khan development network, the rehabilitation of the tomb was began in 2002 that is officially opened by president Karzai the other day.
During the inaugural ceremony, in his speech, president Karzai said that Tiamur Shah is the founder of Kabul as the today’s capital of Afghanistan and he kept his emperor till he was alive and he is one of great personalities in our history.
The president suggested that I am happy that through the rehabilitation of his tomb, we commemorate from Tiamur Shah.
He lauded the Aga Khan services rendered in rehabilitation of tomb of Tiamur Shah, Babur Garden, Ikhtiaruddin Fort in Herat and other health, education and cultural projects.
Afterwards, minister of information and culture Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen in his speech evaluated the tomb of Tiamur Shah as one of famous buildings of capital of Afghanistan and added that during the rehabilitation of tomb, efforts are made so the genuineness of architecture of the era of Tiamur Shah, specification of Kabul and the tomb of great Ahmad Shah Baba architecture be kept.
Then, in his speech, Prince Aga Khan appreciated the government of Afghanistan for providing the ground for rehabilitation of Tiamur Shah Durani tomb and added that I am happy the development network of Aga Khan performed its share in rehabilitation of Afghanistan especially in rehabilitation of its cultural monuments. 
He thanked from other countries such as the US, UK, Germany and Norway for their cooperation with Aga Khan Development Network in rehabilitation of Tiamur Shah Durani tomb.

Kabul (BNA) In order to realize the decree No 45 of the president Dr. Sayed Makhdom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture while Karamuddeen Rezazada deputy of the people at the National Assembly was accompanying him arrived in Ghour province.
Dr. Raheen after meeting with the governor went to visit the Jam Minaret and assessed the present statues of the minaret.
He regretted over the present situation emanating from flood on the surrounding of the minaret and he said that this issue has been shared with the UNESCO and other sources.
Dr. Raheen also visited the remaining of the Zuhak Qala having historical background of over 2000 years.
Ha also visited the local TV studio and promised cooperation for its equipping.
Dr. Raheen also met with some elders, ulema, intellectuals, and members of the civil society as well as the head of the provincial council and its members.
He promised that a seminar about “Ghour on the course of history”.
Meanwhile an agreement for reconstruction of the Jam Minaret was signed the other day with the US embassy representatives.

Kabul (BNA) The cooperation agreement for repairing reconstruction of Jam Minaret of Ghur province was signed yesterday by head of the historical relics preservation department of the Ministry of Information and Culture and the representative of the US embassy in Kabul.
Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Minister Sayed Musadeq Khalili said at the ceremony that on the basis of this agreement the US embassy will assist USD 1.7 million for repairing and reconstruction of Jam Minaret, building of the retaining wall and pedestrian bridge on the Harrirud River.
He called this a cultural project and a big step towards preservation of the Jam-Minaret that is a part of the world historic heritage and hoped that this project is implemented successfully.
The project will take one year and the professions individuals will be trained by the ministry with the cooperation of the US embassy and the ICISCO office in Kabul for this purpose.
He thanked the US embassy for its cooperation with the ministry in the past as well. The agreement was signed by Eng. Abdul Ahad Ebbasi head of the preservation of historical relics and monuments of the ministry and the representative of the US embassy.

Kabul (BNA) Addressing the meeting marking the day of arts and distribution of cultural awards, Dr. Sayeed Makhdoom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture said that the artists and the art have sustained huge pains in the past three decades.
He called Afghanistan the bosom of nourishing of different arts in the course of its history and added that the artists of the country who had created valuable works before Islam with the emergence of Islam they enriched the richest methods of calligraphy and miniatures as well.
He added that in the past decades our art and artists have been insulted through alien cultures. 
He stressed that today the arts and artists day is celebrated and this the greatest gift to them.
At this session Dr. Raheen awarded Mrs. Salma the well known singer who has served the art of music for forty years.
Other speakers at the session included Afsar Rahbeen poet and writer and head of the art and culture department of the ministry.
He said that the ministry has launched art competition on the eve of the 28th of Assad, the independence day of Afghanistan as a result of which 178 works in different spheres were candidate for awards of which 88 won first, second and third awards. 
Of this 26 won first, 26 second and 36 won the third position in the competitions.
