Qasim Akhgar; Afghan Press Star Passes Away

Kabul (BNA) Ustad Qasim Akhgar, an outstanding writer and able analyst of the country died.
Nabi Farahi deputy minister of information and culture and the leadership of the ministry conveyed their sympathized on the death of Akhgar to the family of reporters, analysts and writers of the country and wished peace for his soul and wished patience for his family members.
Farahi called the death of Akhgar an irreparable loss for the cultural society and called him a great struggle of the path of freedom and light. He noted that Akhgar in the past and under the present era in Afghanistan struggled very hard for institutionalization of freedom of speech that is a gain of the present era in Afghanistan.
About his birth date Akhgar used to that it coincided when Ismayel Balkhi and his friends were arrested in connection with coup and it was understood that it also coincided with the revolution in China.
Akhgar studied at the Amani High School when it was called the Nejat High School and before he finished the high school he was sent to prison and later he could not attend any classes and may be the ruling elite did not wanted him to continue his education.
Despite this he was a knowledgeable person and a great ustad before all. He studied See p4.
Philosophy, politics, history, Fiqh and interpretation, sociology and literature and may be the reason for such irregular learning then was the need of the time.
“He used to say if you see that I possess no arts the reason is that I wanted to learn everything but I failed to learn anything and with the aim to be everything I turned up as useless.”
Qasim Akhgar was suffering from illness for years and he was sent to India and China for treatment by the Information and Culture Ministry but he could not recover till he died yesterday.
