MoIC Inaugurates Construction of Local Museum in Logar

Kabul (BNA) Deputy Minister of Information and Culture on Culture and Art Affairs Prof. Mohammad Rasoul Bawary inaugurated work of a local museum in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province yesterday.
According to BNA report, addressing the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Mohammad Rasoul Bawary said more than eight million Afghanis has been allocated to the construction of local museum and would be paid from the Ministry of Information and Culture’s development budget. According to him stupas and temples of the Buddhist periods which were discovered from Mes-e-Aynak ancient sites would be put on display in the local museum. He also said that the ministry would construct another local museum in three acres of land in Logar’s capital, Pul-e-Alam city. Meanwhile, provincial director of information and culture, Abdul Rahman Tassal, said a basic museum was existed within the directorate’s building and was housing old dishes and handicrafts. He stressed the need for construction of a standard museum in the province. The ceremony was attended by Logar governor, security officials, MPs, provincial council members and director of the Archeology Institute of Afghanistan. The local Museum in Mohammad Agha would be constructed in 30 acres of land from the Ministry of Information and Culture’s development budget. It has been 10 years since the archeological activities begun in Mes-e-Aynak ancient sites and most of the discovered artefacts shifted to Kabul museum due to lack of provincial museum in Logar.
