Kabul (BNA) The head of a statue discovered in southern Paktia province was handed over to Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture by police commander of the province and Polish ambassador in Kabul.
Dr. Raheen said that the head of the statue belong to the first to third century AD and it has been obtained from Sharan of Paktia province with the cooperation of Polish friends.
He added that as a result of attention of Polish military personnel in Ghazni and Paktia the police have been trained well and this statue head was recovered in a joint operation of Poland and Afghan police.
Dr. Raheen thanked the police commander and the Polish personnel in this respect.
The Polish ambassador in Kabul said that the historical relics existing in Afghanistan indicate this country’s past historic glories, adding that Afghanistan has many historic relics for which the Afghans be prideful. The head of the statue was delivered to the National Museum.
