Dushanbe (BNA) Hamid Karzai the president of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan held meeting with Marc Grossman the special envoy of U.S. to Afghanistan and Pakistan in Tajikistan capital, Dushanbe the other day. 
In the meeting matters relating the situation in Afghanistan, in the region and funding Afghanistan security forces came under discussion. 
They have shared their opinions on contributing 4.1 billion US dollars to Afghanistan security forces after 2014 by US government and contribution of other countries to Afghanistan. 
Both sides in the meeting also emphasized that commitment to support Afghanistan security forces should be finalized ahead of the upcoming NATO conference to be held in Chicago.

Kabul (BNA) The Afghan and coalition security force conducted an operation to capture a Taliban facilitator in Zharay district, Kandahar province, yesterday.
The facilitator provides weapons and roadside bombs to insurgents for attacks against Afghan and coalition security forces in the district.
The security force detained two suspected insurgents as a result of this operation.

• Another report said, the Afghan and coalition security force conducted an operation to capture a Haqqani leader in Sabari district, Khost province, at the same day.
The leader distributes roadside bombs to insurgents and coordinates attacks against Afghan and coalition security forces throughout the district.
The security force detained two suspected insurgents in this operation.

• According to another report, In Baraki Barak district, Logar province, a combined Afghan and coalition security force captured a Taliban leader during an operation.
The leader directed roadside bombings and other attacks against Afghan and coalition security forces throughout Logar province.

• Meanwhile, the Afghan and coalition security force conducted an operation to capture a Haqqani facilitator in Sharana district, Paktika province, as well.
The facilitator provides weapons for insurgent attacks against Afghan and coalition security forces throughout the district. The security force detained two suspected insurgents too.

• Finally, a Provincial Response Company advised by coalition forces conducted an operation in Achin district, Nangarhar province to recover a weapons and unexploded ordinance cache, yesterday.
The search by the PRC recovered numerous RPG rounds and multiple recoilless rifle rounds. The materials were safely destroyed on site.

Kabul (BNA) In Maidan Shar district, Wardak province, a combined operation the Afghan and coalition security force captured a Taliban leader yesterday.
The leader organized attacks against Afghan and coalition security forces in the district.
The security force also seized one shotgun as a result of this operation.

Dushanbe (BNA)  Hamid Karzai the president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan during meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari which held in Tajikistan capital Dushanbe yesterday stressed for completion of those projects run by Pakistan in Afghanistan. 
In the meeting the issue of transit trade came under discussion and Afghanistan side thanked Pakistan for the steps had been taken to reduce the problem and hoped for continuation of the cooperation. 
Afghanistan’s delegation in the meeting called on Pakistan to develop the railway up to Torkham so as to enable Afghanistan to link its proposed railway to Pakistan. 
Afghanistan minister for finance Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal in the meeting said that Pakistan run projects including Jalalabad-Torkham second road, Jinah hospital in Kabul, Balkh university, Logar hospital and kidney hospital in Jalalabad which have been left incomplete should be completed their work. 
Pakistani delegation said that developing Torkham railway had been discussed with Japan government. 
President Asif Zardari expressed his commitment that Pakistan would fulfill its promise and completes the work on the projects which not been completed so far.

Dushanbe (BNA): The fifth regional conference of economic cooperation with the participation of Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan presidents held in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan. 
The conference was initially addressed by President of Tajikistan Imam Ali Rehman. 
He said that we are sure that such conference’s real steps will be taken for regional economic cooperation in Afghanistan and in the region. 
He attributed lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan to the security of Tajikistan and emphasized on expansion of cooperation in this respect. 
He reiterated that joint struggle should be launched against terrorism and narcotics and bold steps should be taken in this direction. 
President Karzai addressing the conference said that attaining economic development is the vital goal of the Afghan government. 
Today alongside efforts for restoration of peace and stability, it tries to become well-off economically and attain self-sufficiency and play a role that is proportionate to its natural humanitarian and geographical possibilities. 
He added that for the objectives that we are striving is that one day we live a calm and peaceful life on the side of other nations. And it is our expectation from the world to assist us in materializing this just aspiration. 
He stressed that by understanding this clear fact that we are giving priority to the regional economic cooperation as we have not refrained any efforts towards such cooperation. 
He noted that any steps that we take towards development of our economy will also benefit the region directly or indirectly. 
Our efforts towards lasting peace and stability undoubtedly are in investment that its outcome will be felt today or in the future. 
We have opened our doors for trade exchanges and we try our best to prepare good grounds for regional trade and investment. 
Fortunately, Afghanistan having rich resources and important geographical position in this region can play a significant role in materializing and expansion of regional cooperation. 
Afghanistan as bridge in the heart of Asia can unite regional trade and transit. 
Such a link and unity can change the face of the region and will assist our countries in realizing our humanitarian aspirations. 
The TAPI and CASA01000 large projects will soon pass through Afghanistan, and this will bring change in the lives of millions of people of central and south Asian regions. 
Afghanistan has resources such as cooper, iron, coal and precious stones can feed the region and world industries and bring considerable income to the labors. 
The rail road that we are going to build up undoubtedly can bring considerable change in transport in this region and in transportation of goods to world markets. 
President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardai said that Pakistan and Afghanistan have deep relations. 
He believes that only in peace and stability we can strengthen economic development and that stability is a precondition for economic growth. 
President of Iran Ahmadi Nezhad said that Afghanistan has rich resources and she is a talented land that with the help of regional countries can stand on its feet. 
It is therefore our common responsibility to assist Afghanistan in different spheres and we should materialize our financial and industrial commitments of past meetings. 
Iran is a neighbor of Afghanistan and she has also been on the side of Afghanistan and will continue to do so in future as well.

Urozgan (BNA) Three NATO and a civilian were injured in a suicide attack in Urozgan province this noon. 
The event occurred in the Camp of Mirwais area, Chora district. 
According to reports, a suicide bomber blew himself up while a convoy of NATO forces was passing from the area. 
Gulab Khan Wardak deputy of Urozgan security commandment said to BNA, in this event three NATO soldiers and a resident of the area were wounded. 
He said, two vehicles of NATO have been destroyed in this attack.

Kabul (BNA) Senior officials from Afghanistan, Pakistan and the United States held the fifth meeting of their trilateral Core Group Sunday afternoon at the Afghan embassy in Dushanbe.
The Afghan delegation was led by Mr. Jawed Ludin, Deputy Foreign Minister, the Pakistani delegation was led by Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani, Foreign Secretary and the United States delegation was led by Mr. Marc Grossman, special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The three sides welcomed the revival of the Core Group after an interval of six months in the wake of the assassination of Professor Burhanuddin Rabbani, former Afghan president and chairman of the High Peace Council in Kabul.
“I am very pleased to have convened the fifth meeting of the Core Group here in Dushanbe,” said Mr. Ludin. “We had a positive and constructive discussion after a long break.”
“The Core Group represents an important mechanism for our three countries to advance the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process through regular and candid consultations, information sharing and, most importantly, by agreeing concrete steps in support of this critical priority.”
All participants underlined the importance of continuing the work of the Core Group in the future.
Mr. Ludin met Mr. Abbas and his delegation separately ahead of the Core Group meeting to discuss the peace process and various aspects of the bilateral relationship. Mr. Ludin once again congratulated Mr. Abbas on his recent appointment as Pakistan’s new Foreign Secretary. Both sides underscored the need for close contact and cooperation at a critical time for both countries.

Kabul (BNA) An acknowledgement message has been received by Foreign Minister Dr. Zalmai Rasul from the Turkish ambassador to Kabul.
The message expresses thanks over the sympathy message of the Afghan side over the martyrdom of 12 Turkish military personnel in a chopper crash in Kabul.
The message also conveys sympathies over the martyrdom of the Afghan having lost their lives in this incident and wishes early recovery for the wounded of the incident.
The message hopes that such an incident do not repeat in future and hopes that fraternal and historic ties between the two countries further consolidate and remain sustainable .
The message also felicitates the Afghans on the Nawroz festival.

Kabul (BNA) A congratulatory message has been received by President Karzai from President of Tajikistan Imam Ali Rehman on the advent of New Year 1391 HS.
The message notes that “it is a matter of pleaser for me to felicitate you and the people of Afghanistan on the auspicious Nawroz festival and beginning of the New Year and wish you a prosperous year.
It added that Nawroz our forefather’s tradition that today it has been promoted to the international festival and has obtained its cultural significance in the world.
I am sure that with the advent of this day positive cooperation between our countries further consolidates and we attain access to new programs for expansion of our friendly relations the message concluded.
