Bamyan (BNA) A regional coordinator of independent commission of elections was beaten by unknown gunmen the other day.
Ghulam Ali Ashna who was the coordinator of five elections centers in Waras district, was beaten by unknown gun men in Sourkhjou region of the district.
According to Ghulam Ali, he was going to Waras district to train 50 regional staffs of the commission, was brought down from the car by gunmen and severely beaten.
Aziz Ahmad Rasooli the head of elections independent commission (IEC) office in Bamyan confirming the report said BNA; beating of election commission’s staffs has a negative impact on the election process.
Colonel Mohammad Ali Lakzai police chief of Bamyan said a delegation has been sent to the region to investigate the case and bring the culprits to the court.
