Kabul (BNA) Twenty-five mobile and six existing medical facilities serving the Kochis across the country needed to be expanded, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) said on Saturday.
The MoPH, during a meeting on Expansion of Health Services for Kochis, reviewed the medical services being provided to the nomadic community, the ministry’s statement added.
Views on the state of health services for Kochis were exchanged at the meeting, which decided that fresh suggestions and plans would be shared with donors through a proper mechanism in order to get their support.
Health minister Dr. Ferozuddin Feroz temed the Kochi people a deprived portion of society and stressed the need for more health facilities for them.
He termed the prevision of health services an important responsibility that should be discharged effectively and without any linguistic or ethnic discrimination.
Feroz said the meeting discussed how medical facilities for Kochis could further expanded and contacts regularized between the community and the ministry.
Alam Gul Kochia presidential advisor, termed the Kochis a deprived community.  “The government should provide them more health facilities in line with the size of their population.”
Public Health Ministry officials saying 19 provincial mobile teams have been serving Kochis in different areas of health.

Kabul (BNA) Public health ministry inaugurated the construction work of a health clinic in 3rd Macrorayan of Kabul city.
BNA correspondent reported, Dr. Momosi Zewar executive and   financial affairs deputy of public health ministry during inaugural work of the clinic said, due to the problem of people and clients, the ministry of public health decided to build the clinic in 3rd Macrorayan of Kabul city.
He said that the CHC projects funded by an unconditional government budget, at the cost of more than 19860,000 Afghanis, and will be deposited until the fiscal year of 1397.

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by Dr. Najibullah Mujaddedi, the Presidential Senior Advisor and special envoy on eradication of polio, the High Polio Eradication Council was held with the participation of Public Health Minister, representatives from other ministries and the related organs as well as the UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO), BNA reported Sunday.
The agency quoted Mujaddedi to have expressed pleasure over the eradication program of campaign against polio and hoped to reach their final target of succeeding to put an end to polio cases across the country as soon as possible.
Dr. Firuzuddin Firuz, the minister of public health addressing the meeting called eradication of polio a top priority of his ministry and said: “By the beginning of 2016, we promised to have reached to the eradication of polio further than ever in the country, but now, we can say that we have reached to the rooting out of the disease more than any time.”  According to the figures and data, the polio cases are near to be eradicated and the process is hopeful and promising, said the minister.
He said since the beginning of 2016, children affected by the polio cases have not existed in 99 districts of the country, a success approved worldwide.
The minister asked the government and the international partners not to cut their cooperation in this field, otherwise the success would never be possible unless there was a strong commitment from the government leadership and the related organs.
Afghanistan witnessed up to 20 cases of polio, but the cases are reducing each year.
The UNICEF representative emphasized on the importance of the anti-polio program and asked the public to vaccinate their children against the disease.
The ministry signed two MoUs about eradication of polio with the ministries of Hajj and Islamic Affairs and telecommunication and information technology, and seven other are expected to be signed with the ministry, according to the agency.

Herat (BNA) 100 drug-addicts have been dispatched to treatment centers in Herat.
Noor Ahmad Arab, an official of a private organization operating for treatment drug addicts in Herat, told BNA that the center is voluntarily curing drug-addicts and send them back to their native areas after recovery.
He added that their organization has cured more than 340 drug-addicts in its treatment centers during the past five months and submitted them to their families.

Kabul (BNA) At least 409 victims of war have been shifted to Emergency hospital, Kabul city during month of May, 2018.
BNA quoting internal media reported that 421 patients have been transferred to the hospital, which 409 of them were war victims’ injured.
Deyjan Panek in-charge coordination in Emergency hospital expressed his concern over increasing patients since the hospital established at 2001, never over 400 patients have been taken to the hospital since it is establishment.
Meanwhile, United Nations reported that about 763 civilians lost their lives and 1495 others were wounded during war in the first 3 months of 2018. Also ISIS terrorist group have launched further bloodiest attacks on civilian’s installations in Afghanistan, UN added.
Emergency hospital supporting by World Health Organization and managing by Italian non-governmental organization named Emergency Management.

Mazar-e-Sharif (BNA) Three clinic buildings were put into utilization in Balkh province and the work of a hospital and two other clinics are ongoing.
According to BNA correspondent, Dr. Mirwais Rabe head of public health Dept. of Balkh province in a function which was held on the occasion said, the building of three clinics were put into utilization in Sholgara and Zari Districts of that province and work of a 50 bed hospital and two other clinics started in Sholgara and Koshenda Districts of that province.
According to Rabe, the construction cost of the buildings estimated 2300,000 dollars from budget of public health ministry and India.

Kabul (BNA) Round of spring polio vaccination campaign kicked off in central Ghazni province.
According to told BNA report, in this round 300,000 children under 5 years to be vaccinated in center and districts of the province.
Zahir Shah Nekmal head of public health department in Ghazni says, during this campaign anti-warm tablets distribute to 2-5 years old children as well.
For better implementation of polio vaccination in different parts of Ghazni province, everyone have responsibility to cooperate with health employees, Nekmal added.

Herat (BNA) For training of nurses, nursing training program was opened Wednesday in Herat and Ghor. 
Considering maternity health as key elements of health and development in a society, deputy of social affairs in Herat Monesa Hasabzada said that health section in the country in particular maternity health has had considerable developments and achievements, adding that considerable efforts have been also made for prevention of maternal and child mortality in the country.  Hasanzada told participating nurses: “Make use of the two-year training course and work hard to become professional nurses in future.”

Kabul (BNA) First round of spring polio vaccination campaign kicked off in Nimroz province.
According to BNA report, during inauguration ceremony of the province Mohammad Sami governor of Nimroz said, by implementing of polio vaccination is very important and necessary for children.
Sami asked from people to prepare their children for implementation of vaccine.
Afghan security forces are responsible to ensure security for vaccinators and also asked from religious scholars to inform people from risks of polio.
It is supposed that 100000 children under age of 5 years to be vaccinated in Nimroz province.
