Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan youth society handing over the apparition board lauded the work and services of acting minister of the country’s public health, Suraya Dalil, an official said. 
Head of Afghanistan youth society, Mohammad Sharif while handing over the appreciation board to her said that she had provide health services in different parts of the country. 
The minister also thanked the youth society of Afghanistan for its optimism to her.

Kabul (BNA) 4TH Feb coinciding with World Day of Cancer Diseases.
The day is commemorated in the world at the time that 600,000 people monthly die due to cancer disease around the world according to WHO.
It is said number of death due to the cancer is not yet clear.
According to Dr. Sourya Dalil, acting minister of public health, Afghan ministry of public health in the light of its priorities has focused on reduction of child and mother mortality and other diseases and invested in these sectors in the past few years.
On the other hand, donor countries still haven’t gotten ready for prevention and treatment of cancer diseases in Afghanistan due to high cost.
Dr. Sourya Dalil said, Eight months ago, a department was established at the ministry to cover diseases of cancer, hearth and sugar, adding the department is working to set up an effective working program for addressing the diseases and we are trying to achieve the goals through absorption of assistance of donor countries, or national income of the country.
Acting minister of public health further said that diagnosis of the cancer diseases are not simple if diagnosed at the beginning, its treatment is possible at some extent.

Kandahar (BNA) The health medical center of Maroof district of Kandahar province came under utilization yesterday. 
With activation of this medical center health problems of Maroof district and 10 other neighbor villages have been solved.  
Abdul Qayoom Pokhla head of public health department of Kandahar province said to BNA, this center has been constructed with the assistance of PRT of America stationed in that province. 
According to him, this center has 8 rooms and 16 medical personnel and serves 24 hours on child and mother care, surgery, vaccination and other diseases. 
In the inaugural ceremony of this center, Abdul Samad Dorani governor of Maroof district said that previously a medical clinic was established in that district and currently with activation of this center more people have access to medical services. 
Maroof district located in the southeast of Kandahar and has 200,000 residents.

Kabul (BNA) 5,000 polio vaccine boxes costing $50,000 were assisted on Tuesday to Afghan ministry of public health. 
In a ceremony which was held for awarding the assistance, Dr. Nadira Hayat Burhani, deputy for delivering health services of MoPH praised ROTERY organization for its assistance and considered it as vital in transition and implementation of polio vaccination. 
According to Dr. Burhani the assistance of such boxes enables vaccinators of the ministry to implement the polio program in remote areas, resulting in prevention of child paralyzing incidents. 
Dr. Burhani considered that cooperation of health partners with Afghanistan is as important in improvement of health services, asking for further technical and financial cooperation in this regard. 
While asserting that Afghan ministry of Public Health is strongly committed to eliminate polio throughout the country, Dr Burhani concerned over opening the borders of the country and illegal immigrations and considered it as a big challenge for the prevention of polio virus. 
She also said that security problems also created problems in implementation of the program in the country. 
Dr. Burhani asked all the armed groups to let Afghan vaccinators implement the program across the country.
