President Ghani Lays Foundation Stone of 100-Bed Military Cardiology Hospital

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Thursday laid the foundation stone of a 100-bed cardiology hospital in Kabul’s Afshar, BNA reported.
In a ceremony held on this occasion, head of buildings of National Directorate of Security (NDS) Habib Rahman Roshan while briefing related to the project said the hospital would be constructed in 13 acre land in accordance to international standard and the building would have the capacity of even 10 floors and 200 beds. According to Roshan, the contract for construction of the hospital worth 375.6 million Afghanis has been signed between National Procurement Authority and Sifat Construction Company and the project would be completed in three years. Afterwards, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani spoke and praised the country’s national defense and security forces for their efforts towards defending the country and people, adding that personnel who would suffer heart diseases would be treated inside of the country in this hospital.
The country’s President instructed relevant officials to encourage the contractor company responsible for construction of the hospital to complete it within two years and provide all necessary equipment in close coordination with NPA as well as invest in appointment of professional employees for the hospital. President Ghani praised Maj. Gen. Dr. Hashmatullah Nawabi for his suggestion in connection with construction of this hospital and changing Ghazi Amanullah Khan Hopital to a sample hospital in the country, hoping that police hospital would be soon changed to a standard hospital. Pointing to September 28 Presidential elections, the country’s President congratulated successfully holding the elections despite of increasing threats of the Taliban to ANDSF.
