President Ghani Insists Managerial Systemization in Health Sector

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, in a health meeting held late on yesterday, evaluated health situation in the country, and the way of offering health services for the people, a statement from the Presidential Press Office said Monday.
At the meeting attended by the Public Health Minister, the country’s president, emphasizing on budget arrangement of the ministry and the difference on the budget conditions, said in order to offer better health services, there was a need for setting standards and being quick in action, in this field, the statement said.
“Reforms in the provincial health area is not satisfactory.
The health officials should work on a plan that could bring reforms in the health sector,” said the president asking the Ministry of Public Health in present indexes relating to bringing changes in the health sector that requires budget.
“We need managerial systemization in the field of health that could address the available challenges,” the president further said.  A health information system, he also said, should be created and work should be done on health laws, regulations and drafts and the priorities should be specified, the statement quoted him as saying.
The president also said that the Ministry of Public Health should be provided with a road map leading to bringing changes in the general image of health all over the country.” Investors should be encouraged to invest on offering standard health services and health townships should be built as well.”
President Ghani also stressed on the quality of medication and investment in this field and added:  “Reforms in the private sector was essential, while on the humane forces sector a priority.”
