COVID-19 Spread as more Cases Tested Positive in Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) The country’s ministry of public health has said coronavirus cases have increased as four more people were tested positive over since early Tuesday morning.
Wahidullah Mayar, spokesman for the ministry said: “Four were positive, after 60 suspected cases had been brought to the Herat laboratory.”
He said two from Kandahar and one each from Daikundi and Nimroz provinces, with the total cases soring to 174 after 29 detected in Herat, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country’s western province sharing border with Iran, the main epicenter that contracted the fatal disease in China.
The country’s Public Health Minister Dr. Feruzuddin Feruz has earlier said “The capacity of medical facilities in the country would be boosted to 1,000 tests a day by the end of the week.”
