Kabul (BNA): Deadly disease cholera has stricken people Darayim district of Badakhshan province within the past few days.
One 17 year old girl died and 400 other local residents were sickened with the disease in Chapa village of Darayim.
Local officials have said that the people suffering from the deadly illness are in critical condition and health care teams have been sent to the area to provide medical treatment for the local residents.
Governor of Badakhshan province Shah Waliullah Adib, who has visited the area, said “now the disease is under control of the health providers and we are trying to carry the patients to hospital for further treatment.
According to him, patients are undergoing significant medical treatments.
Cholera is a waterborne illness usually caused by impure drinking water.
