Kabul (BNA) Over 78 armed oppositions were killed during joint military operations conducted by Afghan security forces within the last 24 hours across the country.
Ministry of national defense by releasing a statement issued BNA, the joint clearing operations has launched by support of Afghan air and artillery forces to ensure peace and stability, protect the lives and properties of people and annihilate anti-government militias in insecure areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Maidan/Wardak, Khost, Ghazni, Daikundi, Zabul, Urozgan, Farah, Zabul, Badghi, Ghor, Faryab, Balkh and Helmand provinces.
It is mentionable that 43 more terrorists were wounded during the military operations, the source added.
Also, some heavy and light weapons, ammunitions and military equipment have been discovered and seized during the operations by Afghan security forces.
Afghan national defense and security forces by military operations are trying to eradicate terrorists and demolish their hideouts across the country.

Drinking Water Provide to Hundreds Families

Jalalabad City (BNA) By construction of two water supply networks, drinking water have been provided to hundreds families in eastern Nangarhar province.
The water supply networks has been built in Lal Poor district of the province.
Nematullah Nawrozai district governor of Lal Poor district told BNA correspondent, by construction of the water networks more than 400 families found access to drinking water in remote areas of the district.

Kabul (BNA) Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in an interview to a local media outlet stated that Pakistan wants the Taliban to settle the 17-year-old conflict with the Afghan government and negotiate.
He further stated that if they do not “sit down and talk to each other, outsiders can do little to help them”.
Earlier, Pakistan facilitated a meeting between the United States and the Taliban in Abu Dhabi, where delegations from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were also present. Although the talks were said to be “productive and positive”, the Taliban did not change their position to hold talks with the Afghan government.
It was also reported that Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah criticized Taliban’s refusal to hold talks and said that as long as the two parties don’t negotiate, the solution of the conflict would remain a “pipe dream”. Another round of talks to build on Abu Dhabi meeting is expected later this month.

Sharana City (BNA) Hamid Mansouri top commander of Taliban terrorist group was arrested along with his three men in eastern Paktika province last night.
Mansouri was arrested by Afghan Commando Forces inside his hideout when he was involved on organizing a series of terrorist and destructive activities.
Senior commander of Afghan Commando Forces told BNA correspondent, during the military operations Hamid Mansouri along with his three men were arrested and another bodyguard of Hamid was killed.
The Taliban commander wanted to organize a terrorist activity in crowded area of Paktika province.

MAZAR-E-SHARIF (Xinhua) Six militants including a Taliban key commander were killed after fighting aircrafts pounded Taliban hideouts in Chamtal district of northern Balkh province Thursday night, army spokesman in the northern region Abdul Hadi Jamal said Friday.
Mawlawi Badar, according to Jamal, was a notorious commander who had organized subversive activities against government interests in Balkh province and his physical elimination could be a major blow to the Taliban fighters in Balkh and neighboring Jawzjan and Sari Pul provinces.
Taliban militants who just couple of days ago targeted several police checkpoints in Balkh province and killed nearly three dozen security personnel, have not commented.

Asadabad City (BNA) Recently clashes have been erupting between Islamic State for Syria and Iraq (ISIS) and Taliban terrorist groups in eastern Kunar province.
The clashes took place between the two terrorist groups in vicinity of Manogai district of the province, in which dozesn ISIS and Taliban members were killed and injured
A senior commander of Afghan National Army in the east of the country told BNA reporter, during the clashes dozens ISIS loyalists and Taliban militants have been killed and several others were wounded.
Hundreds local residents were forced to leave their houses during the clashes.
During the last years, deadly incidents occurred between the ISIS and Taliban terrorist groups in various parts of the country, in which hundreds terrorists from both sides have been killed and wounded.

Tarinkot City (BNA) As many as 36 anti-government militias were killed and 11 others were wounded during air and artillery attacks in southern Urozgan province.
The attacks carried out by Afghan security forces on terrorists’ hideouts in relevant areas of Dehrawoud district of the province.
Senior commander of Afghan national army in the south of the country told BNA reporter, including two commanders and eight foreign insurgents, 36 armed oppositions were killed and 11 more were injured.
It has been said, several hideouts of the terrorists along with all military equipment have been demolished during the attacks, the source added.
According to reports, following the attacks, dozens members of Taliban terrorist group along with their families were forced to leave Dehrawoud district.

Jalalabad City (BNA) Winter packages have been distributed to 120 needy families in eastern Nangarhar provinces.
The aids have been provided by UN Support Children office and distributed to destitute families in Lal Poor district of the province.
Nematullah Nawrozai district governor of Lal Poor told BNA correspondent, the distribution aids include winter clothes, blankets, shoes and tents.

President Ghani Meets U.S. Army Chief

Friday January 4, 2019 Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with U.S. Army Chief General Mark Alexander Milley at the Presidential Palace on Thursday evening. According to BNA report, during the meeting issues pertaining mutual interests including the U.S. strategy on Afghanistan and South Asia, Afghan peace process under the leadership of Afghans and the Afghan government plans for achieving self-sufficiency came under discussion. The U.S. top military official’s visit to Afghanistan took place in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement to drawdown troops by half, taking back about 7,000 out of some 14,000 of his forces from Afghanistan. There are at least 14,000 forces in Afghanistan who are engaged in counterterror as well as train and advise mission for their Afghan counterparts. M.A.Ansari

Ministry of National Defense by releasing a statement issued that the military operations have been launched by support of Afghan air and artillery forces to annihilate anti-government militias and protect the lives and properties of people in insecure areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Paktika, Paktia, Ghazni, Kandahar, Daikundi, Farah, Badghis, Faryab and Helmand provinces. Also, five suspects were arrested, ammunitions, some heavy and light weapons have been seized and several hideouts belonged to the terrorists have been destroyed during the military operations, the statement added.
