Islamabad (BNA) President Hamid Karzai addressing the Pakistan military students said: Extremism in Afghanistan and Pakistan is on the growth, especially on two sides of Durand Line and it is dangerous for both the region and the two countries. 
President Karzai who was addressing the students of military academy of Pakistan added that the only train for prevention of terrorism and extremism is that we get better education and make utmost use of the youth energy for the future. 
He stressed that trade exchanges between Afghanistan and Pakistan has considerably developed and the visits of the leaders too have increased and there is adequate contact between as well.
He noted that despite the progresses, serious problems also exist, and instability continues in the two countries and our great region is facing instability. 
He pointed out that the joint struggle of Afghanistan and Pakistan against the spread of extremism in the two countries should be continued, so that a school in Swat of Pakistan or Paktia in Afghanistan, by misusing the name of faith should not be eliminated and our girls are not prevented from going to schools. 
The president considered expansion of relations in trade and transit between the two nations as very important and called the youth as the greatest energy for expansion in the two nations. 
He added that it is the responsibility of both countries to understand and remove the misunderstanding so no one fears from the other. 
Pakistan requires a deep strategic Afghanistan, an educated and highly economically strong Afghanistan having strong foundations that could transfer transit Asia and further and a stable Afghanistan in the world level and other living spheres is important that help you. 
You need an Afghanistan where you can invest and get income thereof and we need a stable and secure, prosperous and strong and credible Pakistan. 
And now the time has come to awake and overcome the problems and exert efforts for our future. 
At the end President Karzai answered the questions of the students of the military academy of Pakistan. 
According to another report, President Hamid Karzai met with Nawaz Sharif leader of the Muslim League of Pakistan and attended a reception hosted in honor of the high-ranking delegation of Afghanistan by Nawaz Sharif.

(BNA) The leaders of Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan committed to enhance mutual cooperation for the sake of peace, security, stability and economic prosperity in their region.

The agreement came at the end of the third trilateral summit between the three countries that was held in Islamabad on Friday.

A joint statement was issued at the end of the trilateral summit that said the three Presidents decided to broaden cooperation in the political, security, economic, cultural, social and educational fields and enhance people-to-people contacts, including exchange visits of parliamentarians, academics and journalists. 

They would strengthen cooperation for eradicating extremism‚ terrorism and militancy and to address the root causes of these menaces‚ condemning the killings of civilians as well as any kind of assassinations.

 

Pakistan President, who hosted the trilateral meeting, said the situation in the region was not satisfactory, but the trilateral summit since its establishment in 2009 served as a foundation for broader cooperation between the three countries in the areas of security, economy and trade. It was necessary to move forward in realizing the agreements made for peace, security and prosperity for the region.

President Karzai also delivered an opening statement in the summit and said there was more hope for a better future after bilateral talks with Pakistan and Iran and stressed that it was the time to give a practical mechanism to the talks on cooperation agreed among the three countries.

Iranian President too spoke and said the problems were not rooted in the region, but trans-regional, it thus required us to stand by each other and resolve them in unity and understanding.

He furthered called for practical steps to be taken

The joint declaration adds that Presidents of Iran and Pakistan reiterated their full support for an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned inclusive process of peace and reconciliation. They assured the President of Afghanistan that they would extend full cooperation and stressed that any initiative in this regard must have authentic Afghan ownership.

The statement also includes that the three countries enhance connectivity by promoting project cooperation in infrastructure, road and rail links, transport and communications.

It was also decided that the Fourth Trilateral Summit be held in Kabul by the end of 2012. The exact dates will be communicated through diplomatic

in materializing the decisions taken in the previous summit and prudent measures in avoiding interferences.

Kabul (BNA) French ambassador to Kabul on Wednesday in a news conference considered signing the strategic pacts between Afghanistan and France as a sign of longer commitment of France with Afghanistan. 
The pact was signed between the two countries during the visit of Afghan president Hamid Karzai from Europe. 
In the news conference the French ambassador Bernard Bozhme said, “Based on the pact, France will increase its assistance to Afghanistan.” 
He added according to the pact, we would cooperate with Afghanistan in various infrastructure programs as improvement of agriculture and Afghan security forces. 
He said France would not leave Afghanistan alone after 2014 and a number of French troops would stay in the country for training of Afghan security forces. 
The ambassador further said the pact needs to be approved by the parliaments of the two countries and is for 20 years.

Kabul (BNA) US secretary of defense says Afghan and US strategic pact is to be signed in few weeks. 
Leon Paneta, US minister for defense while talking to US senate said, “After signing the strategic agreement, a number of US soldiers will stay in Afghanistan beyond 2014. 
Some issues between the two sides have made the pact postpone for few weeks. 
According the US minister of defense, one of these issues is the night raids and Afghan government is asking for the quick stoppage of the raids, but US is stressing on continuation and effectiveness of the raids and the second submitting the Taliban prisoners to Afghans. 
The US minister asserted if the issues solved, the pact will be signed in few week between the US and Afghanistan.
