Ulema Urged To Work For Peace

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani Sunday urged the religious scholars to earnestly work for peace restoration in the country.
During a meeting with some southern Kandahar elders, religious scholars and lawmakers, the president called on the delegation members, particularly, the religious scholars to steadfastly work for restoration of peace across the province, the presidential press office reported BNA. The president urged the religious scholars to work for peace throughout their villages and from their mosques’ tribunes.
Representing the participants, two elders Besmellah Afghanmal and Abdul Rahim Ayoubi discussed issues related to peace restoration, fight on drugs and corruption, security, good governance, education and releasing innocent prisoners with the president promising to tackle them duly.
President Ghani ordered setting of a delegation led by Dr. Farooq Wardak to investigate into the prisoners’ files in the province.
