Kabul (BNA) President Hmid Karzai and his accompanying delegation returned home last evening after attending the 25th conference of NATO leaders in Chicago, USA.
Alongside this conference the president had separate meetings with the presidents of USA, France, Norway, Turkey, Pakistan, Ukraine, British Prime Minister and Ban-ki-moon UN Secretary General in Chicago as well.
The president also met Australian prime minister and after the meetings signed strategic long-term cooperation agreement between Afghanistan and Australia.
During the second day of the conference allocated for Afghanistan, President Karzai addressed the meeting in which he described the expectations and the viewpoints of the people of Afghanistan in relation to the struggle against terrorism, ensuring nation-wide peace, equipping of security forces of Afghanistan and the transition of security responsibility and emphasized on joint efforts in struggle against terrorism that is threatening the security and stability of the world.
President Karzai prior to his US visit went to Germany and met with Mrs. Angela Merkul Chancellor of Germany and signed the long-term strategic cooperation agreement between Afghanistan and Germany.
Meanwhile during his stay in Germany the president met with ministers of foreign affairs and economic development of Germany as well.
