Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the high board for appointment of senior defense and security officers held first session to introduce head and members, BNA reported the other day.
President Ghani in the meeting attended by CE Dr. Abdullah and ministers of defense and security sector, state minister on reforms in security affairs, Amrullah Saleh and head of supervising board on appointment of senior security officials and the member, called it a historical and sensitive day and wished success to the board’s head and members. He called the elites of defense and security a think tank and noted that this could do its duty in brining reforms in the defense and security senior officers and their promotion and to reach the goal it would have full political support from the government of national unity, the agency quoted.
The president also called the viewpoint of the head of the head and members of the board constructive in the four year development plan of the country’s security forces, the agency added. The board is expected to help institutionalize a democracy system, provide comprehensive and crucial surveillance and investigation to the promotion of the senior officers of the Afghan security and defense forces, besides performing many other related responsibilities, according to the agency. According to the agency, under the board guidelines, the defense and security ministers have to cooperate with the state minister on reforms of the security sector and head of the supreme board on appointment of senior officers of defense and security forces.
