President Ghani Accepts New EU Ambassador’s Credentials

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a ceremony accepted credential of the new European Union ambassador, the presidential press office said in a statement Tuesday.
During the ceremony, the president, while congratulating Mianun Pieer for his new post as the EU ambassador to his country, thanked the EU support to Afghanistan during Warsaw and Brussels conferences in different fields, the statement said.
Both sides discussed economic and trade relations between Afghanistan and the EU and exchanged views on cooperation and investment in textile, technical contribution in mines sector and peace process, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the European Union new ambassador expressed pleasure over his new job in Afghanistan and reiterated about continuation of cooperation between the two sides and said the European Union was ready to cooperate Afghanistan in various fields, the statement said.
