Kabul (BNA) India recently was the host of a high raking delegation of Afghanistan and a number of Afghan merchants headed by Dr. Abdullah Abdullah the executive chief of Unity Government.
Dr. Abdullah Abdullah has gone to India aiming to participate in joint commercial exhibition under the name “The path to tranquility”.
BNA reporting on the issue writes the relation between Afghanistan and India is growing and India is one of the five countries that support Afghanistan in both economic and political fields and India is the first country that formed its relation with Afghanistan based on a security agreement.
Dr. Abdullah after visiting some high ranking authorities of India including prime minister of that country in a news session said, “Kabul and New Delhi are pursuing the same goal and view and try to further expand the level of their cooperation and relations.”
The statements come in a time that the close relation between Kabul and New Delhi has sparked reactions in the level of the region.
Pakistan which has fragile and sensitive relations with Afghanistan and exercising a hostile relation with New Delhi, expresses more concern than other countries. However, Indian and Afghan authorities considering their friendly relations as an example of good regional cooperation and ask the other countries of the region to follow such policy. Due this policy, Dr. Abdullah in New Delhi strongly focused and emphasized on expansion of regional cooperation.
Dr. Abdullah regarding to the recent statements of Pakistani foreign minister delivered in UN General Assembly Sessions in which expressing concern over close relation between India and Afghanistan called it against Pakistan’s interests and shamelessly claimed that Afghanistan in its international relation showed follow Pakistan.
Kabul will never permit any country to intervene in its foreign policy, based on this policy Dr. Abdullah asked Pakistan instead of planting the seed of mistrust in the region follow a constructive policy of cooperation in the region.
In the meantime, political elites say China the eastern neighbor of Afghanistan that has territorial problem with India, also concerns about close relations of India and Afghanistan. However, that country which has close relations with Pakistan, publically have showed no any concern so far in that regard.
Dr. Abdullah the executive chief of Afghan government regarding the role of China in the region says that Afghanistan and China are exercising high level of cooperation and Afghanistan knows that China has relations and links with other countries, but it is an open fact that terrorism also threats China and this provide the ground for further cooperation between Afghanistan and China.
The Executive Chief of Afghan National Unity Government during his visit to India has signed agreements with his Indian counterparts according to which India trains Afghan police.
In addition, Dr. Abdullah in his visit with Indian prime minister asked him that New Delhi to help in treatment of Afghan national forces troops who injured in fighting against terrorism. Indian side committed to respond to the demand after assessment in near future.
According to Afghan political elites the increasing desire of Afghan and Indian authorities for strengthening relation between the two countries especially on regional issues, can further deepen the already close and friendly relation between the two countries. India is among five donor countries that assist Afghanistan. Afghan people and their international friends believe expansion of relation between Kabul and New Delhi can help in restoring political and economic stability to Afghanistan.
It should be point out that the authorities of the two countries strongly insist that the expansion of relations between the two countries is in to the benefit of the region and aiming the isolation of the third country.
