President Ghani Pays Tribute To Martyr Abdiani

Kabul (BNA) In a ceremony held at Sardar Dawoud Khan Hospital, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani paid tribute to Gen. Torialay Abdiani who had been martyred in recent Taliban suicide attack in Paktia province, the presidential palace said in a statement.
Expressing sympathy and condolences to Martyr Abdiani’s families and police officials, the president said, “Today, we are witness to martyrdom of one of the brave sons of this homeland, who maintained his honor, pride and dignity in every walk of life,”, according to the statement.
The president said unfortunately the enemies of Afghanistan have deeply saddened all of us with martyrdom of Abdiani, the statement added.
The president instructed the minister of interior to arrange the proposal of martyr Abdiani’s promotion and dedication of an apartment to his family and present it to the presidential office, the statement went on to say.
The president also tasked the minister of interior to visit other martyrs’ families of Paktia province’s barbaric attack, adding that the martyrs’ memories and families should not be forgotten, the statement continued.
Lauding Abdiani family’s sacrifices, the president thanked martyr’s father for having such a son and told him all of the Afghans are proud of him, the statement quoted the president as saying.
“We want peace and if you repeat such cruelties, the people of Afghanistan, religious scholars and armed forces will stand in a single front against you,” the president said.
He said that the government wanted a prosperous life for the children, women and youth of the country, but the enemies of Afghanistan are the messengers of death.
Then, the martyr’s father Wali Mohammad Khan spoke and while thanking the president for his sympathy said, “Martyr Gen. TorialayAbdiani was not only my son but all Afghanistan’s nation and security as well as defensive organs.”
He added Martyr Abdiani had always been saying that I am Afghanistan’s son and my homeland is my mother.My mother is sick and my only wish is restoration of peace and stability in the country.
According to another report, President Ghani met with fact-finding delegation of Paktia’s terrorist attack led by Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah at his office the other day.
The delegation said due to the terrorist attack in Paktia, many buildings have been damaged and need to be reconstructed. Paktia’s provincial governor, ShamimKatawazai thanked the president for his sympathy to the incident’s martyrs and injures and said Paktia people have always supported the government as recently many of them has donated blood to those wounded.
The president instructed officials of the ministries of defense, interior, rural rehabilitation and urban development as well as finance and local organs administration to take immediate steps in reconstruction of the affected buildings.
The president tasked the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces to spare no effort in ensuring security of Gardez city. He assured the governor that the government would soon approve new development packages to the province.
