Senate Chairman Seeks Chinese Support For Peace In Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) Senate Chairman Fazel Hadi Muslimyar met Liu Jinsong Chinese Ambassador to Kabul here yesterday, BNA reported.
Recalling the friendly ties between the two countries, Ambassador Liu said his country was favoring peace and stability in Afghanistan and trying to pave the ground for productive talks on peace in the country and take active part in implementation of development projects.
He also briefed the senate chairman on China’s Belt and Road Initiative and its impact on neighboring countries, improving of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries as well as granting scholarships to Afghan students, the agency added. Praising Chinese support and cooperation, Fazel Hadi Muslimyar congratulated the ambassador on recent declaration of Chinese Parliament on reappointment of Xi Jinpingas the president and extending the tenure of other Chinese officials, asking the Chinese officials to continue supporting of Afghan nation that still suffering from increasing violence and bloodshed by the terrorists.
Pointing to Pakistan’s interfere of Afghan affairs and support of the terrorist groupings in the country, the senate chairman said the neighboring country has spared no effort to devastate Afghanistan and kill the innocent people, the agency continued. The senate chairman asked Chinese ambassador to convoy his message to his senior officials to use its influence on Pakistan and convince the country to give up support of the militants and help bring peace in Afghanistan. The Chinese ambassador said his country was understanding the Afghans’ pains and that his country would remain committed for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
