CM Meeting: Dr. Abdullah Praises ANDSF Performance

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah presided over the meeting of Council of Ministers (CM) here yesterday.
According to BNA report, congratulating, the advent of Eid-ul-Fitr, Dr. Abdullah welcomed Afghan religious scholar’s stance against Taliban’s suicide attacks and calling it against Islamic teachings. “Government of Afghanistan welcomed Ulema’s proposal and announced ceasefire. Fortunately, Taliban did the same. We have always said the waring faction will lost, but people are the real winner of peace,” CE Abdullah told the Council of Minister’s meeting. Praising Afghan National Defense and Security Forces’ (ANDSF) performance, Dr. Abdullah said police seized 3 thousand kg of explosive materials on Sunday in Kabul and prevent a huge explosion in Baghlan province. Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah also informed the session on Afghanistan export strategy, adding the plan was aimed to ease exportation of goods from Afghanistan. CE went on saying the strategy was prepared in close consultation with private sector, EU and World Trade Organization. He asked line organs to do more for implementation of the strategy. “Appointments and firing of ministers have already been explained in Afghanistan constitution and the agreement of the national unity government. Every decision should consider services of the honest people. We support dealing the citizens with dignity,” Dr. Abdullah added.
The session continued with security report of the security officials and the report of the commission on transferring the machinery of Nebraska printing press related to Ministry of Information and Culture to Ministry of Education Printing Press by first deputy to Chief Executive Eng. Mohammad Khan. The session instructed the Ministry of Information and Culture to facilitate transferring of the machinery to Ministry of Education Printing Press. Later, Minister of Refugees and Repatriation presented a draft operational budget plan for repatriation of refugees from Iran and Pakistan. The session instructed the ministry to specify the duties of miniseries in the operational plan. Meanwhile, Minister of Energy and Water presented a draft on specification of underground and shallow waters for ensuring potable water to Kabul. According to minister, 31 percent of shallow waters and 69 percent of wells were substandard, calling increment of population, drought, activities of Vehicle washing centers and pools as the main reasons behind falling of underground waters. Minister of Urban Development and Housing also presented a draft on prevention of illegal construction of buildings in Kabul, saying his ministry could not prevent the issue sans cooperation of the legal and security organs. Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah approved some parts of the plan, saying some other issues needed to be discussed in National Security Council meeting.
