Some Women Welcomed President Karzai’s Decree

Kabul (BNA) Some of the women strongly welcomed article 32 of the President’s decree that incorporates elimination of violence against women and called it a turning point in ending the pains of the women in the country.
In article 32 of the President’s decree the women affairs ministry has been assigned that in three months’ time start a massive program on reduction of violence against women through the media, mosques, Takaya and other media sources for informing the public to work on elimination of violence against women.
Meanwhile, in six months time, the ministry should finalize the structure and supervisory national working plan for woman and present its first report to the CM.
Fauzia Nasir Yar Kabul deputy at the House of People said that this decree once again drew the attention of the ministry of women affairs towards its missions and responsibilities for improving status of women in the country.
She added that in this decree the role of the religious scholars in reduction of violence is also specified and this can help I reduction of violence against women.
Nasir Yar added that in case the role of the media is outstanding in this sphere the religious in this respect. For, in most areas the people have no access to the religious scholars and they are trusted by the people more than others.
