Approval Of The Afghanistan-UK Enduring Strategic Partnership Document By Wolesi Jirga

Kabul (BNA) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the approval of the Enduring Strategic Partnership Document between Afghanistan and the United Kingdom by Wolesi Jirga.
Dr. Zalmai Rassoul, Minister of Foreign Affairs said “the approval of this important document on long-term strategic cooperation between Afghanistan and a major friend and donor country is an important step in preserving and further strengthening our relations and cooperation with the government and people of the United Kingdom based on mutual respect and shared interests.”
The enduring strategic partnership document between Afghanistan and Britain, which was signed by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the British Prime Minister in January 2012 at Chequers near London, covers political dialogue, bilateral security cooperation, UK's cooperation and support in the areas of governance and the rule of law, socio-economic development, and cultural relations.
The document consists of six parts and 15 articles which is valid for a period of 10 years that can be extended by mutual consent.
