Atmar Resigns, Muhib Introduced as Afghanistan’s NSA

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani president of the Islamic republic of Afghanistan has accepted the resignation of Mohammad Haneef Atmar national security adviser yesterday.
According to BNA report, a statement from the presidential palace today released that Mohammad Haneef Atmar resigned from national security adviser position and his resignation has been accepted by President.
The statement added that, Muhabullah Muhib Afghanistan ambassador to U.S. has been appointed as the new national security advisor of the country.
Mohammad Haneef Atmar had previously served as the country's interior minister under former Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
Meanwhile, Muhibullah Muhib also currently serves as the non-resident ambassadors to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Argentina and Columbia.
