Samangan Elders Call on VP

Kabul (BNA) A number of elders and influenced figures of Dara-e-Souf, Roy Du Aab and Khuram Sarbagh districts of Samangan called on Second Vice-President Sarward Danesh yesterday.
Maintaining security technically extraction of mines, balanced development, fair partnership of the people in local institutions and participation of the people in democratic processes and election were among issues discussed in the meeting. Elders of the respective districts asked national unity government to adopt serious measures for maintaining security of Dara-e-Souf district so that the people and mine workers can feel safe. They said that armed Taliban group were trying to deteriorate security situation of Dara-e-Souf, because of its geographic importance and access to coal mines and it was necessary that the government should prevent from movements of the Taliban group in the district.
After hearing their suggestions and problems, Vice-President Sarwar Danesh stressed on serious measures of the government for maintain security of Samangan in particular Dara-e-Souf and better management in extraction process of coal mines in the district, considering cooperation and mass coherence of the people as key in maintaining security. Danesh further added that central government was making effort to facilitate pavement for balanced presence of tribes and citizens of the country in government institutions by conducting administrative refroms in local administrations. At the end, Sarwar Danesh promised that their demands would be addressed through relevant institutions.
