“Police Offices Should Turn into the People’s Reliable Places,” Dr. Abdullah

Kabul (BNA) Chief of Executive of the country’s National Unity Government (NUG), Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, chairing the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers (CMs), heard reports from the participants and provided them with required instructions in their responsibility directions, a statement from his office said Monday.
The Chief Executive hoped the upcoming parliament to step up in the field of strengthen rule of law in the country, however he regretted the postponement the Kabul electoral results, due to some technical problems, the statement said. He asked the government officials and in-charges not to keep governance issues away from their routine policies and put serving the people at the top of their priorities. Dr. Abdullah welcomed the recent measures of the country’s ministries of defense and interior and asked them for more attention for further equipment the fire department.
Amrullah Saleh, the country’s Acting Minister of Interior, presented detailed report about the country’s situation and said that the graph of crimes has recently been declined, as only three cases of crime have been reported Sunday night, while in the past the graph exceeded over 200 cases. “1,134 individuals from little number of 6 illegal arms to up to 150 illegal weapons have been registered by police recently and between 200-250 kidnappers and murderer bands, still operational in various regions of the country are reported,” said Saleh. The minister of interior said he was committed to bring the level of crimes and kidnapping to nil, in the country, according to the statement. Meanwhile, the country’s acting defense minister also provided details about his activities as saying up to 392 enemies of the country have been killed and over 200 others either wounded or arrested during a series of military operation in various parts of the country.
The country’s chief executive lauded the efforts of the country’s security and defense forces and said that police offices should be turned into a reliable source for the people. Dr. Abdullah instructed the security in-charges to address the security situation in Sar-e-Pul, Ghor and Farah provinces. Present at the council of ministers’ meeting, first and second deputies of the Chief Executive, Eng. Mohammad Khan and Mohammad Mohaqqeq spoke about the current security situation and while praising the recent measures of security and defense forces, but asked for launching military operations in Balkh, Samangan and other restive areas of the country.
