Kyrgyzstan Reiterates Long-Term Support to Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Salahuddin Rabbani met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, a statement from the ministry of foreign affairs said on Saturday. Kyrgyz President Jeenbekov said that Afghanistan was a very good friend of the Kyrgyz Republic in the region and promised his country’s long-term cooperation with Afghanistan in bringing about peace and enhancing the human resources capacity in the country, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Rabbani also mentioned the commonalities and shared values between the two countries and called for implementation of CASA 1000 project and the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan- Afghanistan Railway project, the statement added. According to another report, Minister of Foreign Affairs paid a visit to the International Silk Road Exhibition and observed Afghanistan’s cultural booth, talked with Afghan students studying in various institutions in the Kyrgyz Republic. In his remarks, Foreign Minister Rabbani said, “I hope our students who are busy pursuing knowledge in various disciplines, shine well in the educational institutions of this country and have their Homeland in mind to be able to serve their people one day.” At the end of the event, the Foreign Minister handed certificates of appreciation to four of the Afghan students with outstanding academic achievement, the statement said.
