President Ghani Inspects ‘Kabul Machine House’ Restoration Process

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani inspected restoration process of the Kabul Machine House here yesterday, a statement from the presidential press office said.
Accompanied by acting minister of information and culture, Agha Khan Foundation representative and a number of government officials, the president briefed regarding the Machine House, saying it was good news from Kabul citizens that one of the country’s historic places was being restored while keeping its historical and architectural designs, the statement added.
The president said the Machine House was once called Bagh-e-Alam Ganj and was one of biggest recreational parks in Kabul city.
Praising Agha Khan Foundation and Germany’s financial support for restoration of the Machine House, President Ghani said in less than two year the capital city would once again turn to a recreational place.  According to the president, the Machine House will have place for cultural activities, conferences, book selling, theatre shows as well as durable place for exhibition of Afghan women’s products.
Hinting to development programs in Kabul, the president said a six phases plan was prepared in coordination with one of the world’s major urban planning firm and Kabul would turn once again as one of the historic and best cities in the world, the statement added.
